Chairperson Patsy Terry promises lots of family fun at the Broken Arrow Main Street Merchants Association Holiday Tea-Off on November 12.
The highly anticipated holiday season will officially kick off at Broken Arrow Main Street Merchants Association’s annual Holiday Tea-Off on Thursday evening, November 12, in downtown Broken Arrow. “This event is tailored to entertain and please the entire family, and this year’s production will have some nice surprises,” says event chairperson Patsy Terry. The Tea-Off commences at 6 p.m. and concludes at 9 p.m. with the ever-popular prize voucher drawings, redeemable for merchandise from participating Main Street merchants.
Participating business personnel and their stores will be “decked out” for Christmas. The evening will highlight dozens of live entertainment acts along the Main Street corridor, and performers will include children from Broken Arrow Public Schools as well as some gifted individuals from the community. The City of Broken Arrow will again provide its portable stage at the AVB parking lot at El Paso and Main, just across the street from the Broken Arrow Historical Society Museum.
Participating Main Street merchants encourage shoppers to begin registering for prize drawings between November 1 and November 12. Simply go to any participating merchant during that period and fill out an entry form, and your name will be included in the drawing to be held at the conclusion of the Tea-Off. No purchase is necessary when registering at any of the participating stores.
This year’s prizes will include a $500 voucher, a $100 voucher, and two $50 vouchers. Although you are not required to be present at the drawing to win a prize, the value of the voucher will be reduced to 50 percent of face value if you are not present.
The entertaining, fun-filled evening lasts two hours, and during that time you will delight in the featured performers, have the opportunity to visit participating merchants to register for drawings, see new holiday treasures, and enjoy special refreshments provided by merchants. Many stores will be conducting their own drawings for additional prizes. If you are a winner of one of these prizes, the merchant will contact you to make arrangements to pick up the prize.
A Tea-Off treat for children of any age is catching a glimpse of Santa Claus as he strolls up and down Main Street, visiting the stores. Santa always takes time to listen to the kids, who so eagerly anticipate his visit this time of year.
A new feature of the Holiday Tea-Off is the strolling singers, who will provide melodic entertainment as you enjoy the many long-time merchants and the several new ones that adorn the streets of downtown Broken Arrow.
The Tea-Off will also feature free trolley rides, plus horse-drawn carriage rides for a small fee. The event is destined to be a great evening chocked full of fun – so mark your calendar now for the evening of Thursday, November 12.
