Tulsa Reining Classic

The Tulsa 100X Reining Classic is an action-packed display of equestrian skills at Tulsa Expo Square. Watch cowboys and cowgirls of all ages and abilities compete in various challenging events that will keep you on the edge of your seat. See riders guide horses through precise patterns of circles, spins and stops at speeds alternating between a slow lope and a fast gallop. Cheer for your favorites as some of the most successful open riders to the tiniest young cowboys and cowgirls execute a variety of cantering and galloping feats in this thrilling show. Don't forget to check the on-site Western trade show for some great deals when you need a break from all the thrilling competition.

Rocklahoma

Enjoy an epic three-day rock music festival featuring more than 70 entertainment acts on three stages. The world's largest rock festival of its type, Rocklahoma features high-energy acts, the sound of thrashing guitars, pyrotechnics, and roaring vocals. Embrace your inner rocker and mingle with the likes of bikers, 80s metal enthusiasts and classic rock fans. Located four miles north of downtown Pryor, the Rocklahoma festival grounds feature over 6,000 assigned and numbered seats and a general admission lawn that can accommodate over 50,000 visitors. The grounds also have over 4,000 campsites, on-site parking, bathroom facilities and overnight security. Stock the RV, shine up your motorcycle or simply throw a tent in the backseat and head to Rocklahoma for a music festival that is guaranteed to blow your socks off. Enjoy the all-star lineup including Avenged Sevenfold, Disturbed and Slipknot on the main stage or head into the VIP tent for food and drinks. Great Raft Race

Since 1973, this event has celebrated our community's spirit, creativity, and love for the Arkansas River and outdoor recreation. This year, we're back and bigger than ever, coinciding with the grand opening of Zink Lake and the Big Dam Party! Celebrate the debut of Zink Lake, and be among the first to ride the new white-water flumes, and support the revitalization of our beloved riverfront. AAON Great Raft Race is presented by Public Service Company of Oklahoma and Vital Energy.

First Friday Art Crawl

Since 2007, the Tulsa Arts District has presented the community with rotating art displays as part of the monthly First Friday Art Crawl events. Every first Friday of the month, visitors can explore artwork inside galleries, studios and museums and catch a few live music performances or even an exciting fireworks display. As an added bonus, art crawlers can take advantage of free museum and gallery admission while shopping later than normal business hours would allow. Hit the district early for dinner, or stay a little later for a craft cocktail best enjoyed on an outdoor patio.

Conquer the Gauntlet Obstacle Race

Conquer the Gauntlet is a challenging four-mile obstacle course and adventure race that features over 30 obstacles. Held at 181 Ranch in Bixby, this event will bring you face-to-face with taxing obstacles like climbing over walls, crawling through mud, and slogging your way through water one to five feet deep. Coweta Fall Festival
September 12-14, 2024
Celebrate the coming of fall with friends and family at the annual Coweta Fall Festival, held in the heart of the Downtown Coweta Broadway District. Visitors to this free, three-day event will enjoy live stage entertainment, fun carnival rides, art/craft/business vendors, children's games, a car show, talent show, pageantry, and plenty of delicious fair food. In past years, this annual celebration has featured live performances by BC and the Big Rig, Brandon Bethel, Nathan Kilgore and the Garage Band, Braden Jamison, Infiinty, Levi Walker, Emily Hollingshed and many more. Skiatook Pioneer Day Festival
September 12-14, 2024
Head to the Pioneer Day Festival in Skiatook for a great day of family fun. The free festival events kick off Saturday morning with "Runnin' the Rails" certified 5K, followed by the Pioneer Day Parade. Come to the Rogers County Free Fair and browse through Made in Oklahoma products, arts and crafts, baked goods, livestock exhibits and more. A Rogers County staple since 1955, this free fair guarantees fun for the entire family. Attend a horse show, check out numerous vehicles in the fair's annual car show or take the kids over to the fair's popular children's area, featuring plenty of activities geared specifically towards them. Make your way to the festival's carnival midway for rides, games and plenty of yummy fair food and snacks. The Rogers County Free Fair, which highlights the transition from summer to fall in Claremore, is a great opportunity to celebrate the agricultural diversity of the area. Event categories are wide and varied, from cooking and horticulture to fine arts and animal exhibits. Spend the day browsing through traditional fair exhibits, or simply attend the fair to enjoy an exhilarating spin on a carnival ride.

Spin-n-Knit-In

On the second Saturday of each month, drop by the farm to watch or participate as we fellowship and work hand crafts and fiber arts. Bring a craft to work on or come for a "free help session" with fiber arts such as spinning, weaving, knitting, crocheting, or felting. Shepherd’s Cross offers weaving and fiber arts classes year-round, on an individual or group basis. Shepherd’s Cross is an accredited Agritourism facility and a Made in Oklahoma Company that processes Animal Welfare Approved fiber (that is chemical free, hormone free, free range, all natural). Shepherd’s Cross hosts a mini wool mill, processing wool from their own sheep, raised on site. Heart of the Shepherd is the non-profit organization (501-C3) that operates at the farm and establishes wool mills in remote, impoverished areas around the world. Heart of the Shepherd teaches Biblical references to the harvest, the animals, farming, and gardening. Shepherd’s Cross and their unique Country Craft Shop is open Tuesday through Saturday 8:30 – 5:30, year-round (closed some holidays).

Second Saturday Architecture Tour – Sand Springs: A Historic Street and More

These monthly walking tours will give you an insightful look into the exciting architecture and prestigious collections that you may pass by every day. Through a Lens Darkly with Gilcrease Museum & Don Thompson

Join Gilcrease at Circle Cinema for a screening of Thomas Allen Harris’ “Through a Lens Darkly: Black Photographers and the Emergence of a People”. Attendees will also hear from Don Thompson, photographer, former industrial engineer, educator, and Greenwood documentarian, about the history of black identity through photography, and learn about the photograph of Willie Peevyhouse Davis that is currently on view at all Gilcrease in Your Neighborhood locations. The film explores how African American communities have used the camera as a tool for social change from the invention of photography to the present. This epic tale poetically moves between the present and the past, through contemporary photographers and artists whose images and stories seek to reconcile legacies of pride and shame while giving voice to images long suppressed, forgotten, and hidden from sight. World’s Largest Calf Fry Festival & Cook Off

A Vinita tradition since 1979, the World's Largest Calf Fry Festival & Cook-Off features amusement rides, arts and craft displays, live entertainment and plenty of fun for the whole family. Celebrate Vinita's rich ranching history by tasting the festival's namesake, calf fries, also known as a local "delicacy." Visitors who wish to taste the calf fries (also referred to as Rocky Mountain oysters) can purchase tickets to enter the cooking area. Vote for your favorite team in the People's Choice competition and sample other treats including beans, cobblers, salsa, and breads, made by the various cook-off teams. Celebrity judges will determine the overall winners. This festival also has a variety of other activities to keep you entertained. Browse through arts and crafts, bring the kids for an extensive selection of children's activities and inflatables, or enjoy cowboy games. The World's Largest Calf Fry Festival & Cook-Off serves up an average of 2,000 lbs. of calf fries each year. Black Gold Days in Glenpool celebrates the city's rich oil history with family-oriented activities and fun. Join the citizens of Glenpool as they honor the history of the local Glenn Pool oil field, which created numerous oil and oil-related companies in the area and helped the city prosper after its discovery in 1905. Black Gold Days features a carnival, numerous food vendors, free entertainment, and a fireworks display. Known for its lineup of live music performers, this festival will feature everything from bluegrass and gospel, to rock and country. Fill up at the Lion's Club pancake breakfast Saturday morning. Kids will enjoy a frog jump, turtle races, a horseshoe tournament, and a variety of other children's activities. Watch the festive parade on Saturday, then browse through endless craft and vendor booths situated throughout the festival grounds. When you work up an appetite, visit a food vendor and feast on traditional fair favorites including corn dogs, hot dogs, turkey legs, kettle corn, barbecue sandwiches and more.
