With a lot of information out there about solar roofs, but to keep it simple and easy to understand, we asked Co-owners Christian Nicks, Jake Nicks and Fred Chain of Outdoor Creations Roofing & Solar, a Broken Arrow company that serves the greater Tulsa area, a few questions to help those interested in sustainability and green energy.
When considering solar, people should consider that the roof could be damaged by an electrician. But when selecting a contractor, such as us, we make sure the roof isn’t compromised because of solar installation. We have been installing roofs for 10 years. We make the process simple for you to find out if adding solar to your home will be a benefit to your home.
Any roof on any structure is a potential match for solar panels. However, if there is a south-facing direction we can install panels that will maximize output. Ground-mount options are for people who the space, but don’t want it on their roof; or there is no south-facing direction.
There is currently a federal tax credit of 30% of the total system price for customers who go solar until 2032. Tax credit applies to your total job including the combination of both your new roof (if a new roof is needed) and solar installation. Additionally, for qualified buyers, we can finance both your new roof and solar into one package, so you receive the full 30% tax credit for the entire package. Individuals who are purchasing a new home can also bundle their new solar into their home loan and receive their tax credit.
We partner with the Right People to make commercial solar available as well. Tax incentives also apply to commercial.
Once permits are acquired, which can take 30 to 45 days, installation usually takes anywhere from 1 to 3 days, depending on the size of the system. After installation, both the electric company and City will have to complete their inspections. Roofs take only 1 to 2 days. Our skilled technicians and crews know what they’re doing and do it well.
There is a 25-year manufacturer’s warranty on solar panel degradation and their components, so customers can rest assured that they won’t have any issues. Also, the life span of panels are anywhere from 40 to 50 years.?
Cost estimates are based on your home’s kilowatt hours (KWh) usage. Christian and Fred can give you a firm estimate within 15 minutes, either by phone or in person. You will need to provide your last 12-months KWh usage, they will look up your home online, and determine how much cost-cutting solar will provide you. You can go with partial or whole home solar; either choice will save you money and qualify for the tax credit.
Christian and Fred said their customers come from all demographics…from teachers, healthcare, and retired…people who want to save on their ever-increasing utility bills are installing solar.
Outdoor Creations Roofing & Solar not only provides solar panels and Euroshield extra-durable and long-lasting sustainable roofing products and installation, but they also sell generators and batteries to support your energy independence needs.
