Her life today feels miles away from her former life as a nurse practitioner, a career she dedicated herself to for over 25 years. Yet, in the careful placement of each ornament and ribbon, she sees a familiar purpose: bringing optimism, comfort and care to people’s lives.

Shannon’s journey from the sterile, high-pressure world of medicine to the vibrant, natural medium of floral design was not a sudden pivot, but a slow-blooming realization. The years had taken their toll; the emotional weight, sudden health problems, and long hours had left her feeling drained and creatively unfulfilled. “I loved my patients, but my health issues were real,” she explains. “I needed a way to reconnect with beauty and hope, something that felt like I was healing myself, too”.

Hope Through Creativity

Her creative outlet began simply: crafting seasonal wreaths and selling them online. Almost immediately An Array of Wreaths blossomed into a successful business as more people saw her distinctive designs. Shannon’s wreaths and centerpieces were different—they were made of vivid materials, overflowing with varied textures and unique ornamental elements, and they told a story. Her medical background, it turned out, had prepared her in unexpected ways. “The precision and attention required in my old job directly translated to my work now,” she says. “Just as I carefully monitored a patient, I’m meticulous about using superior materials with balance, texture, and longevity of every arrangement.”

This holiday season, Shannon’s, “An Array of Wreaths,” is bustling with orders for her signature creations. She works with a variety of upscale elements. Each piece is a thoughtful, handcrafted work of art. From her popular rustic neutrals to designs that burst in merry color palettes, each design features a refined mix of enhancements. Her stylings range from subtle to show-stopping. She also offers custom designs, working with customers to create a bespoke piece that perfectly suits their home.

For Shannon, the greatest reward is seeing the joy her creations bring. “As a nurse practitioner, I helped people feel better. Now, I get to do it in a different way, by bringing a piece of festive beauty and the spirit of the season right to their front door”. She believes that creativity, like medicine, has the power to heal and transform. “This isn’t just a business for me,” she reflects, “it’s a prescription for a more beautiful life which allows me to create items that bring me and others joy.”
