Bring the family out to Broken Arrow’s Rooster Days, the oldest festival in the state of Oklahoma!  This year will commemorate its 88th year and will be held May 9-12, 2019. Guests will enjoy lots of entertainment, free concerts, carnival rides, wine garden, food, arts and crafts, a parade, a 5K run and much more. Rooster Days is a premiere family-friendly event.  

Mark your calendars for kick off at 5 p.m. Thursday, May 9, at Central Park, 1500 South Main St., Broken Arrow. As always, Rooster Days will be bringing area resident’s fantastic live –entertainment and loads of fun that continue through Sunday at 6 p.m. Admission is free; single day and mega ride passes will be available for purchase.

Rooster Days Run will be Saturday, May 11. The race begins at W. Memphis Street and S. Main St. Route options include a 1-mile Fun Run that starts at 8:05 a.m. and a 5K Run that begins at 8 a.m. On-site registration for the run opens at 6:30 a.m. or pre-register online at www.roosterdays.com.

Their big parade begins at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, at College and Main Streets, and proceeds south on historic Main Street to the front gates of Rooster Days at 1500 S. Main St. Both sides of Main will be flooded with spectators of all ages, with children arriving early to ensure “front row curb seats” as they eagerly receive candy provided by some of the parade entrants. One of the anticipated highlights of the Rooster Days Parade is The Pride of Broken Arrow Band,” recognized nationwide for their superior and dynamic abilities. Be sure to join the fun on Main Street Saturday morning to take in all the floats, bands, antique cars, Miss Rooster Days and her court, and so much more. Rides, food vendors, arts and crafts, and live music begin as the parade ends. More information about participating in the parade can be found at www.roosterdays.com.  The Miss Rooster Days Pageant is returning for its 65th year and will be held Saturday, May 11. The contest consists of an interview, answering a question onstage, and modeling an evening gown in front of judges and spectators. Applicants must be 16 years of age by Aug. 31, 2019, are high school sophomores or juniors and Broken Arrow residents. The 2019 Miss Rooster Days will be the Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce’s youth ambassador to ribbon cuttings and chamber events. She will be awarded a $4,000.00 scholarship to use at the college of her choice at the end of her reign. Application deadline for Miss Rooster Days is noon, Friday, April 26. Toss in more fun and add to your carnival experience by entering the Cornhole Tournament. This event will be held at the Central Park pool parking lot, Saturday, May 11. Check-in time is 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. with the competition starting at noon. Last year’s event was a blast with over 40 teams competing. Cost is $50.00 per two-person team. This is a double elimination tournament with a cash payout to first and second place teams.

Are you looking for a unique and fun shopping experience? The Rooster Days Market Place is the place for you. Featuring home decor, clothing, jewelry, tasty treats and more, Rooster Days Market Place has something for everyone.

The Rotary Club will be hosting the traditional Rooster Days Egg Hunt. You may get your clues daily at participating Broken Arrow merchants or online. Cash and prizes are donated by local merchants and will be awarded to the lucky person who can solve the clues that lead him or her to the 2019 Rooster Days egg.
