“Toxic Beauty: A Retrospective” will be on display in the Gary Moeller Gallery of the Arts in Baird Hall until Feb. 23. The art gallery is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. To get to Baird Hall, come in the main entrance to RSU on Will Rogers Blvd. Drive past Prep Hall (white building with the gold dome) and the Fine Arts Annex (older one story grey building right behind Prep Hall) and Baird Hall is the big 2 story red brick building right behind it.
“Toxic Beauty: A Retrospective” will feature select works of Lance Hunter, a signature member of the American Watercolor Society and the National Watercolor Society, and who has received eight awards in national or international watercolor exhibitions. Some of the artwork contains mature themes.
“Lance Hunter is a contemporary figurative artist, exploring the human form in unique and unexpected ways,” said Steven Rosser, RSU professor of Fine Arts. “Working in drawings, watercolors, and oils, he has established himself both nationally and internationally. This exhibit serves as a retrospect, showcasing work from across his career.” Hunter is an associate professor of art at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, where he teaches painting, watercolor and figure drawing classes.
