Allyson Dilday and Stacy Reece invite you to explore their store. Values Inc. & Value News Magazine photos, 2024.
A familiar Claremore business has a new location, and though it may just be down the street, owner Stacy Reece couldn’t be happier. Freckled Finch, previously located next door to Boarding House Books, is now centrally located on Main Street, next door to Crooked Roots.
With the bigger space, Reece was able to expand her gifts and customers have been boasting about the vibe of the store. “They’ve told me it’s a warm, cozy environment,” she said. “And it’s a peaceful shopping experience.”
After a steady career in corporate finance, Reece had a change of heart after she visited her sister in Iowa who owned a wildly popular store similar to Freckled Finch. “She did a remodel last year and I went up there to help her reopen after the remodel. Getting back in there, and being back in my comfort zone, and what I love, I knew I wanted to do it.”
Opening her doors in December 2022, Reece’s top priority has remained the same, which is providing unique gifts that are not found in every gift shop.
“My store is a unique collection of quality brands rarely found elsewhere in the area.”
Reece has delivered on that promise too as her store offers gifts in home decor, specialty food, candles and other room fragrances, jewelry, handbags, bath and body care, baby, garden decor, silk flowers, men’s care, kitchen wares, and pet products. Some popular brands in baby and kids she carries are Jellycat, Milkbarn, Itzy Ritzy, and Speedy Monkey. In outdoor home decor she carries Studio M, and in gourmet food she carries Wind & Willow, Frontier Soups, and Door County Coffee.
But even alongside the big names, Reece also carries many local vendors, such as Paragon Sauce & Spice. Reece has plans soon to expand her most popular area, baby and kids, as well as men’s care and pet products.
With her passion for helping people and being involved in the community, she’s also excited to offer monthly “make and take” craft classes held in the shop. As well as, “a girls’ night out to eat, shop, and just have fun.”
“We’ll be hosting fun classes too. Beginning in spring, you won’t want to miss our painting and floral arranging events. Watch our social media pages for our pop-up events.
