The Gardners have made it their mission to see healing in their patients through neurofeedback.

Over 12 years ago, visionaries, Barry Gardner, DC, BCN, and Cyndie Gardner, pioneered the way for neurofeedback therapy, in the state of Oklahoma, by establishing RenuYou Neurofeedback Brain Fitness Center. They envisioned a “life-changing” venue where individuals could get healing from PTSD, anxiety, depression and learning/processing disorders without relying upon medication and its possible side effects. They have become one of the most highly esteemed neurofeedback clinics in the world, with individuals coming from as far away as South Africa for treatment. Richard Soutar, Ph.D. BCN, a renowned name in the neurofeedback field, commented on their accomplishments.

“The Gardners did everything right, and it is rare to see such dedication to details,” said Soutar. “They pursued board certification and were open to learning a bio-psycho-social approach to neurofeedback recognizing that they had to look at pharmaceutical use, diet, exercise, and nutrition as well as family and work-life when using Neurotherapy to achieve optimal outcomes.”

Soutar continues, “They utilized specially developed software with qEEG brain-mapping and psychosocial testing designed specifically for that purpose and developed a coherent team of experts along with a very organized office, based upon years of experience in Wellness services to the community. They coupled this with deep concern and compassion for each patient. I am very impressed and proud of their accomplishment.”

RenuYou Neurofeedback is a non-invasive, drug-free form of brain wave biofeedback based on self-operant conditioning and considered to be one of the most advanced drug-free therapies of this technological generation. It successfully treats depression, anxiety, ADD/ADHD, learning difficulties, insomnia, memory deficits, as well as helps students, athletes, dancers, choreographers, politicians, CEO’s with peak performance by achieving optimal use of mental resources and can actually increase IQ.

“We can see noticeable improvements within the first few sessions,” says RenuYou licensed therapist, Joshua Beavers, MA, LPC BCN.

RenuYou begins with a quantitative electroencephalography (qEEG), a brain mapping that records electrical activity and coordination of the brain. Brain patterns are then interpreted by a doctor or qualified specialist to determine the protocol for treatment.

We are passionate about what we do,” said partner and clinical director Marie McCabe, MA, LMFT, BCN. “We’ve seen so many lives transformed. The brain can get stuck in an overstimulated brain wave pattern, which causes attention anxiety, or a slow pattern, which contributes to ADD/ADHD. Neurofeedback actually causes the brain to re-route and forge a new neuropathway.”

Once treatment begins, RenuYou uses “reward biofeedback” that features watching a movie or listening to music. As desirable brainwave patterns emerge, the continued playing of the movie or music reinforces them. The reward is taken away when undesirable patterns emerge. The goal of neurofeedback is to improve the brain's ability to self-regulate and smoothly shift between states of relaxation and sustained focus. This encourages the brain to change thinking and behavior patterns and achieve peak performance due to the brain’s ability to control attention and emotion.

“There is nothing more amazing than to pair scientifically proven neurofeedback treatment with effective therapeutic interventions to facilitate healing and growth,” said staff clinical hypnotherapist, Debra Watkins, MA, LMFT.

RenuYou Neurofeedback Brain Fitness Center is a BCI.A Board Certified facility, staffed with physicians and licensed professional therapists and counselors, and are also certified brain health coaches under renowned neuroscientist, Dr. Daniel Amen.

RenuYou believes ultimately that God is the Great Physician and adhere to the scripture, Jeremiah 29:11, “the plans God has are to give us a hope and a purpose.”

“Our mission statement is to empower people to be healthy, as God intended, beginning with a fully functional and optimal brain,” says founder Dr. Barry Gardner.
