Give a furry friend a “forever home” at the annual Adopt-A-Pet Day at Grigsby’s Carpet, Tile & Rug Gallery on October 17.
People, pets and carpet will be the focus on October 17 for Adopt-A-Pet Day at Grigsby’s, 4417 S. Sheridan Rd. As part of a nationwide effort to bring together people and pets that needs homes, Grigsby’s Carpet, Tile & Rug Gallery and STAINMASTER® PetProtect® are partnering with the Tulsa SPCA to showcase adoptable dogs, cats, puppies and kittens.
From 10 until 2, the SPCA mobile adoption center will be at Grigsby’s, with animals both inside the mobile center and inside the store. SPCA adoption counselors will be on hand to answer questions and help select the pet that is just right for your family.
Since 1913, the non-profit organization, known as the “senior citizen” among animal rescue groups, has been an icon in the animal community for its efforts to shelter and find forever homes for dogs and cats. Hundreds are adopted each year from its seven-acre parcel on Mohawk Blvd.
SPCA’s outreach through the years has expanded to provide a low-cost vaccination service, an ongoing animal cruelty investigation program, weekly pet visitation to residents in 25 area nursing homes (designed to promote the therapeutic animal-human bond), educational programs on pet care and health, and a safe haven for pets of families during domestic violence episodes. And, of course, there is the mobile adoption center, with space for at least 15 animals to make choosing a new pet more comfortable and convenient.
When it comes to carpet and flooring of all types, Grigsby’s, too, has been an icon since 1959. Their popular STAINMASTER® PetProtect® carpet is the first carpet and cushion system designed for pets and their people. This pet-friendly carpeting resists pet stains with a built-in stain resistance that won’t wash off. The STAINMASTER® PetProtect® carpet and cushion system provides a breathable moisture barrier that helps prevent spills from penetrating the padding and subfloor. It also releases pet hair by reducing attraction between the hair and carpet.
According to Grigsby’s Operations Manager Penny Carnino, all STAINMASTER® PetProtect® carpeting will be offered at reduced prices through October 24. “This is the ideal time to take a look at this carpeting that could be in your home for the holidays,” she says. Besides being pet-friendly, STAINMASTER® PetProtect® is also kid-friendly. What parent hasn’t worked (to no avail) to lift various spills on the hallway carpet?
“And for those who are green-conscious, STAINMASTER® PetProtect® lasts longer than traditional carpeting. Since it does not need to be replaced as often, there is less waste in landfills,” adds Penny. “This carpet really does make sense for people with pets and kids.”
Grigsby’s 20,000-square-foot showroom also features a large selection of tile, natural stone, laminate floors and countertops, cork, bamboo, hardwood flooring and area rugs from vintage to modern in all shapes, sizes and colors. Their commercial division also features many choices for high-traffic areas that don’t get the TLC of home floor coverings.
Trying out a new look in your home is both fun and easy, thanks to Grigsby’s new website, www.grigsbys.com. The website offers a virtual room designer, all based on an uploaded photo of any room in your home. Change colors or change total looks as many times as you wish from wherever you are.
Visit Grigsby’s on October 17 and adopt your new best friend. And, if you are in the market for new carpeting, save money on the STAINMASTER® PetProtect® selections.
