After working part-time at a liquor store in Sand Springs, Oklahoma, Jason Hower received an offer to be the store’s manager. He jumped at the opportunity and dove into the liquor world head first… He hasn’t looked back since. In 2014, he opened Kwenchers in Owasso. For him, opening and owning a liquor store has been a dream come true and a return home to the retail and agricultural lifestyle he grew up in.
According to Hower, he couldn’t have found a better city or location to open his store.
“Owasso just reminded me of home. It’s a growing city with a lot to offer, but has that small-town feel. You couldn’t ask for a better community. The people of Owasso are easy to serve.”
At Kwenchers, you can support local Oklahoma breweries, wineries, and distilleries. Hower believes in Oklahoma small business – a fact made evident as soon as you walk into his store. Hower opted to promote local products in the busiest spot in his store; a spot where most stores would stock their top-shelf products.  He said, “I’m a small Oklahoma business, so I want to do whatever I can to support other small Oklahoma businesses. We’re all in this together.”
Customer service is the heart of Kwenchers. When you walk in, you’re instantly greeted with kind words and a warm smile. Whatever you’re looking for, we want you to have fun doing it,” he said. Kwenchers’ logo is a tugboat, meaning they’ll get you where you need to go.
Not sure what you want? No problem. Kwenchers has a taste room where highly educated sales associates can recommend a beverage to suit your tastes and needs. For Hower, educated and accommodating team members are of utmost priority. True to their motto, Kwenchers’ staff truly are ‘the spirited experts.’
“When you walk out of our store, we want to make sure you’re leaving with something you want, and something you’ll really like,” he said,  “I know what it’s like to have a six-pack sitting in my fridge for weeks because I hated the beer. Having a staff that will recommend what you want, not just want they want to sell, takes the stress off of you.”
