Learning & Understanding About Mindful Eating

Join Creek County Literacy Program and Reasor’s Foods on Thursday, July 13 at 5:30pm for a free, informative workshop entitled “Learning & Understanding About Mindful Eating”. The workshop is open to the public. During the workshop, Registered Dietitian Sydney Cavero-Egúsquiza will share information about Mindful Eating. “This class will teach you how to enjoy eating and feel good about food again”, shared Cavero-Egúsquiza. Participants will enjoy in-class activities and take home free materials to help them use mindfulness wherever they go. Learning & Understanding About Mindful Eating is a health literacy outreach project of Creek County Literacy Program, the Oklahoma Department of Libraries, with funding provided by the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) and the Institute of Museum and Library Services. There is a gallery discussion of specific art pieces followed by a hands-on, interactive activity. This program provides an opportunity for the person with the disease to use remaining motor skills and non-linear communication to recreate a representation of them that lets other recognize their essence.
