Former board presidents and volunteers of Ronald McDonald House of Tulsa are all smiles preparing for the big celebration.
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Tulsa, Inc. is celebrating 25 years of serving families in need at the Ronald McDonald House of Tulsa. They will be hosting their annual McDazzle Fun Ball on Thursday, August 25th at the Cox Business Center in Tulsa. Executive Director Jean Ann Hankins says she and her staff expect about 500 people in attendance.
“This year’s McDazzle will honor Phyllis and George Dotson, two devoted and generous hearts who - from the very beginning - have helped the Ronald McDonald House of Tulsa become a place of healing and strength. The continued support of Phyllis and George and the rest of the Oklahoma community have enabled RMHC to keep their doors and hearts open for a quarter of a century,” the charity stated in a press release.
To celebrate 25 years of RMHC of Tulsa home-away-from-home, their theme this year has been titled “Coming Home”. Guests will enjoy an evening of delicious food, by Chef Devin Levine. The event will also feature live and silent Auctions that will continue to highlight the best that Tulsa has to offer. The evening will also include entertainment by Barrett Baber of NBC’s The Voice.
“Serving hundreds of families around the State and across the country, The McDazzle Fun Ball is extremely important to us to help raise the funds necessary to operate the Ronald McDonald House in Tulsa.” Jean Ann Hankins, Executive Director for RMHC of Tulsa, said “Here, families are able to rest and regain well needed energy so they can focus on what matters most—their child.”
The Ronald McDonald House of Tulsa will celebrate 25 years of operation on October 4. Many of the original founders will be returning to celebrate this milestone at the McDazzle Fun Ball August 25. Event Chairs Tammy Hearn and Ashley Bracken Griffin will also be in attendance.
RMHC of Tulsa is not exclusive to any specific hospital. The house works with all hospitals in the area and offers transportation as well. However, they do require that anyone needing their service live 10 miles or further from the house.
“It’s a charity that you don’t know you need until you need it,” said Jean Ann Hankins.
