Multiple acts are expected to perform at this year’s festival.

POSTOAK Lodge & Retreat is thrilled to announce the return of it’s own Wine & Jazz Festival, presented by Citizens Bank. The event is scheduled for September 2-4, 2016. Nestled in the Osage Hills, the Lodge and Retreat center is located ten minutes from downtown Tulsa. Because of the success of last year’s inaugural event, they have has added a Wine & Jazz Dinner “under the tent” on Friday night and a Champagne Jazz Brunch on Sunday morning in addition to the festival, held Saturday, September 3 from 4-11 p.m. Attendees will be able to purchase wine from a variety of Oklahoma wineries. The event will include food trucks and culinary delights from Chef Damien Jacob, executive chef at the lodge.
“The Wine & Jazz Festival hit a big home run last year, thanks to our sponsors, talented musicians, wineries and food trucks,” said Trisha Kerkstra, general manager. She added, “The expansive ‘meadow’ we have here on site was the perfect setting, and all the feedback we had from attendees was to bring the event back. We are thrilled to provide performance opportunities for professional and student musicians, and to add another festival for citizens, travelers and tourists in Northeast Oklahoma. This year, we are adding a pop-up gallery by the Tallgrass Gallery in Pawhuska. Attendees will be able to view and purchase fine art from some of the region’s best Western, wildlife and Native American artists.”
Emmy-nominated saxophonist Grady Nichols headlines the Wine and Jazz Festival, and will perform a high-energy show featuring a mix of his original songs and classic covers. Joining him for the fun will be special guests Mary Cogan and Starr Fisher.
“Very rarely do you have a situation where the three of us are able to do a show together. When we do, it’s magic and everyone has a great time! There are three distinct styles represented here which means there’s truly something for everyone,” Nichols said.
Nichols has performed all over the country, and opened for legends like Ray Charles and Luciano Pavarotti. His most recent radio hit, “London Baby!”, was on the Billboard Jazz chart for six months. Nichols also has a brand new Christmas project to be released in October called, “Falling In Love With Christmas.”
Multiphonic Funk, a local youth-filled funk group run by Drew Thomas, will kick-off the festival at 4 p.m. Tulsa Latin Style, a traditional and high-energy 12 member Latin and Salsa group, will follow. Next up will be jazz sensation Eldredge Jackson with his blend of traditional, soulful, R&B tinged jazz; followed by the amazing guitarist group Max Ridgway Trio.
Attendees will be able to purchase wine from some of Oklahoma’s best wineries: Deep Branch, Pecan Creek, TideWater, Vernost, Woods & Water, Gander Way and Put a Cork in It. Committed food trucks are: The Local Table, Masa, MooChewSooey BBQ, Cake Smash and hosts own Chef Damien Jacob.
Tickets are $15 each for the Saturday Festival, and there is free admission for those 17 and under. Tickets and a variety of packages including accommodations and meals are on sale now, and can be purchased through their website.
The POSTOAK Wine & Jazz Festival is presented by Citizens Bank. Additional sponsors include: Osage County Tourism, Jackie Cooper Imports, an anonymous donor in support of Fit First Responders, and Response Team One.
