Tallgrass Prairie

The largest protected piece of tallgrass prairie, with more than 39,650 acres, is home to more than 2,500 bison. Spend the afternoon soaking up mother nature’s finest and watch the buffalo roam. Head over to Skiatook and have lunch at one of the favorite local eateries, spend time at Skiatook Lake enjoying the scenery or rent a boat and test the water-refreshing in the summer.

Hominy, Oklahoma

Hominy is a place where oil and cattle industries blend with Native American influence to create a cultural heritage that is truly unique. Steeped in history, it was once home to the Hominy Indians Profession Football Team, a group of primarily Native American players who beat the New York Giants in an exhibition game in 1927.
