Why Suffer Needlessly?

“The first thing that impressed me about Dr. LaButti was what other medical personnel had to say about him,” says Pat.

Pat Conwell says that her entire life, including her work in real estate, vastly improved after receiving a total knee replacement from Dr. Ronald LaButti of Central States Orthopedic Specialists.

About seven years ago, Patricia Conwell of Tulsa visited an orthopedic surgeon who told her that she needed a total knee replacement. Pat left the office and vowed to herself, “That is never going to happen.” Her knee pain gradually increased during those seven years, and finally she went to her chiropractor to do something about the problem. The chiropractor took one look at her X-rays and broke the news: her knee had reached bone on bone stage, and there was nothing he could do to help her. He referred Pat to Dr. Ronald S. LaButti, orthopedic surgeon with Central States Orthopedic Specialists. “I was shocked – and very afraid of the idea of surgery,” she says. “I was so against the idea, I ‘accidentally forgot’ Dr. LaButti’s business card.”

One of Pat’s friends went to the same chiropractor not long after, and the doctor gave her the card to pass along to Pat. “I had put it off for so long, I was really afraid,” Pat explains. “But it got to the point where I wasn’t functioning well; I could hardly walk or go up steps.” She decided the time had come to give Dr. LaButti a call.

“The first thing that impressed me about Dr. LaButti was what other medical personnel had to say about him,” says Pat. “Everyone I encountered – from the person who scheduled my appointments to the person who escorted me to my room – said the same great things about him. I had to get a cardiac clearance before the operation, and the doctor and entire staff there told me how thorough and detail-oriented he is, never cutting corners or skipping a step.”

Dr. LaButti performed Pat’s total knee replacement on her right knee in April of this year. “Now my left knee is jealous,” she laughs. “I’m so thrilled I went through with it. Even though it’s something everyone says, it really is true – I should have done this a long, long time ago.”

Before the operation, when Pat went places with her friends, the first thing she would do was find a chair. “We’d always make plans to do things, and friends would say, ‘Why do you even want to go? You’re just going to sit the whole time.”

Now Pat can enjoy her life again. “I sell new homes, and my job is much easier with my new knee. My happiest moment was six weeks after the operation, when I could finally drive again. I got in my car and drove to get a paper and a coffee. I felt like a new person! I plan on having the operation on my left knee soon, and I can’t wait. I’ll be skipping around then.”

If you’re thinking of having a total knee replacement, Pat highly recommends Dr. LaButti – “I give him a score of ten out of ten. He does everything he can to get remarkable results and to make sure you experience as little pain as possible.”
