What women want in a health and fitness center, women get at The Platinum Center. From the moment you walk in, you know this is no ordinary gym. The naturally lit atrium, complete with skylights, provides a gracious welcome to the private women’s area that’s completely devoted to a woman’s needs.

The Women’s Only Area includes a women’s fitness center, a group fitness studio, women’s locker room and Kids Zone, all within steps of each other and without having to walk through the men’s exercise area. The fitness center allows ladies to enjoy their workouts without the feeling that somebody is watching them. It features equipment specifically designed for a woman’s body. There’s Nautilus equipment for circuit training, Precor treadmills, dumb bells, medicine balls and steppers, just to name a few. Each cardio machine is equipped with a television with 142 channels, including one that allows ladies to keep an eye on their children in the Kids Zone next door.

The bright and cheerful Kids Zone is available to children from 8 weeks to 12 years. Upon arrival, mothers of small children are given pagers so they can be contacted instantly, if needed. Activities include Playstations, Dance Revolution and lots if toys for youngsters. A special learning center features five computers with educational software to occupy the older children. The Kids Zone is the only gym in Tulsa that has an outside play area. There are three security cameras inside and one security camera in the outside area.

The women’s locker room is unlike any other, and leaves nothing to be desired. It has a luxurious, country club look, with beautiful tile on the floors and showers. Many ladies like to take advantage of the club’s 5 a.m. opening, before going to work. They can come as they are, work out in the fitness center or perhaps participate in one of the fitness group classes that include body pump, kick boxing, shape-n-tone, Zumba, body sculpt, core strength, yoga, spinning and pilates.

Fitness Consultant, Raquel Klahr, shows a Platinum Center member how to properly use the equipment.

Each shower has a separate changing area, and dispensers with shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Private changing tables are available for infants. The makeup area is spacious, brightly lit and includes hair dryers.

A unique feature of the private women’s area is a state-of-the-art micro carbon infrared sauna. “This is a safe, effective and enjoyable way to help remove toxins from the body and lose weight,” said Platinum Owner Jim Parham. For those who enjoy tanning, there are both a tanning bed and an upright booth. Further pampering is available through spa treatments such as massages, facials, body wraps and waxing.

Cleanliness stands out throughout the facility. Every inch is sparkling clean and odor free. Antibacterial towelettes are available everywhere.

After a great workout, Kaffe Böna is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a delicious smoothie, protein drink, sandwich, wrap or salad.
