Waterford Plaza now boasts its own boutique with Owasso faces and friendly service, but a distinctly different West Coast style. Apricot Lane Boutique and Salon recently opened its doors at the southeast corner of 129th East Avenue and 96th Street North, and, owned by Judy Miller and her daughter Angela Meadows, the shop is unlike anything else Owasso has to offer.

Store manager Ashley Ray explains that Apricot Lane is a franchise based in California, and the Owasso store is the only one in Oklahoma. “Dallas is the next closest store, and there are only about 40 locations across the country. We are very excited to bring this unique shopping opportunity to Owasso.”

Unique is the key word, and from the moment you step in the door, you’ll notice that this isn’t your average chain store. From the exposed brick to the rich wall colors and black accents, you’ll know you are in for a fresh new experience. Gorgeous jewelry in many colors and finishes fill the jewelry gallery, and prices start at only $3 and run to about $25 for earrings, necklaces and bracelets. In the numerous displays are accessories to put the finishing touch on almost any outfit. A wide variety of designer-look sunglasses are available as well.

With brands including Sinful, Affliction, Lucky, Naughty Monkey, Lucca and Betsey Johnson, you might think that Apricot Lane is only for the teen set, but assistant manager Megan Maxwell says the store draws a variety of ages. “The teens and young adults love Apricot Lane because the atmosphere reminds them of the boutiques on popular television shows such as “Laguna Beach” and “The Hills.” Their mothers love the store because of our jewelry and hard-to-find items.”

Apricot Lane carries many designer fashions and offers the best selection of Ed Hardy items in Owasso, including clothing, shoes, rain boots, sunglasses, watches, handbags, lingerie and even perfume. Gift sets are also available. A variety of fashions and shoes from Melissa Shoes, Steve Madden, Chinese Laundry and Laguna Beach fill the funky shoe room, and shoppers can relax on the oversize purple suede seating while they try on pair after pair.

Prices vary from very affordable to high end, so there is something for everyone. Whether you are treating yourself to a day of massage, hairstyling and a complete new look, shopping for a gift occasion, or searching for an extra special finishing touch for an existing outfit, Apricot Lane has you covered.

Massage therapist Jami Williams can work out the kinks from all that holiday shopping, and stylists Andrea Ritz, Heather Ash and Jeanette Rhodes can assist you with all your hair care needs to make sure you are looking your best this holiday season. Apricot Lane is an exclusive Bumble and Bumble authorized salon and carries a wide selection of B&B products.

One very exciting feature of the new store is the Fashion Party Hostess plan. Apricot Lane will host a fashion party for you and your closest friends with semi-private shopping, refreshments and raffle prizes. Ray says that as a hostess, you need only to enjoy a bit of shopping and bring your friends to earn discounts for yourself and your guests. Hostesses receive discounts of 20 to 50 percent depending on the total sales, and guests receive 20 percent off everything in the store. “It’s a nice way to get your holiday shopping done, show off your new favorite store to your friends and get a great discount. You don’t have to clean up before or after, and we do all the work. It’s a win-win for you and your guests.”
