Robbie Taheny, owner of Portraits By Robbie, stands in her studio with a variety of portraits she has taken.

Landmark occasions take place in everyone’s lives. If properly preserved, these occasions can provide memories to treasure for years to come. Robbie Taheny of Portraits By Robbie in Claremore loves helping customers capture their treasured memories through photography.

“Photography has been described as an art form, and it truly is,” Robbie says. “You owe it to yourself to have the best ‘artist’ you can find to translate those special memories into lasting photographs.”

Weddings are the most consistently-photographed events in peoples’ lives. Robbie understands how important it is to brides and grooms to capture their big days on film, and she strives to help the day be as special as it can be. “Weddings are often a very stressful time for the bride, groom and their families,” Robbie says. “I try to help everyone feel relaxed and make the photo shoots fun.” Robbie always tries to be a part of the process rather than a nuisance. She has even moved flowers or held the bouquet for the bride. “I just help wherever I’m needed,” she says.

As weddings are very expensive, Robbie offers a wide range of affordable packages with many options from which the wedding party can choose. Packages begin at $325 and increase, depending on the amount of time spent and the number of photos ordered.

Graduations also rank as one of the most important events in the lives of students. Robbie is dedicated to making sure seniors commemorate their final year of high school in a way that uniquely expresses their personalities. “When I do a senior photo shoot, I spend a lot of time with that senior,” Robbie mentions. “For a reasonable session fee, I go anywhere they want to be photographed. They can bring as many clothing changes as they want, and we can focus on their hobbies and interests.”

In a recent photo shoot, Robbie traveled all over the countryside with a young lady. A few stops included visiting Will Rogers’ birthplace, the railroad tracks, as well as spending time in the studio. Another young woman brought her horse to Robbie’s property where the photo session took place at a pond. “If you want your animals in your photos, bring them,” Robbie says. “You only graduate once, so make it special.”

One of many desirable aspects of Portraits By Robbie is the quick turnaround on photo development. “Clients can come into my waiting area and look at the proofs of their photos on my computer the day after I take them,” Robbie says. “The photos then come in a week after they are ordered. We can shoot your senior pictures, and you can have them the next week.”

Robbie is not just flexible with wedding parties and senior photos. She can help patrons record any important times in their lives. She takes photos of families, sports teams and children. Robbie has dress-up costumes for little girls, and she loves to take pet photos. Photos can be taken in her state-of-the-art studio, which includes a ‘scene machine,’ or she can go on location.

Finished products can also be matted and framed at Portraits By Robbie. “We have custom framing and a computerized mat cutter right in the studio,” Robbie says. Many different colors and sizes of frames and mats are available at affordable prices. “We can cut just about any mat a customer is looking for,” Robbie adds.
