Becky Rathbone, Co-owner, brings creativity to the business she loves.

Looking for the perfect gift or need a new centerpiece for your table or wreath for your front door? Come visit Rathbone’s Flair at their location in Jenks. Since opening in the 1950’s, Rathbone’s Flair has been known for their beautiful seasonal and holiday displays. Many shop their decorating supplies for unique items that can’t be found anywhere else. In addition to their florals, it’s the perfect place to find a special gift for someone. Rathbone’s Flair carries popular collectibles such as Department 56 and Fontanini Nativities.

Matt and Becky Rathbone operate the long-time business. Through the years they had expanded from the Jenks location, to several Tulsa stores. Customers trust them as a mainstay for a variety of merchandise options. Circumstances recently motivated a decision to consolidate into a single location. “We closed our last Tulsa store at the end of January and transferred everything to Jenks,” Matt Rathbone explains. “The many years in Tulsa were good for business. Yet various factors prompted us to consider the decision, not the least of which was Becky’s cancer diagnosis two years ago.”

A year’s worth of treatments and six surgeries realigned the Rathbones’ personal and business priorities. “The positive impact on Becky’s attitude and the encouragement from family, friends and customers during the challenging period created a new outlook for us,” said Becky, now cancer free, is continuing to do what she loves. “Silk and floral arrangements are something I truly love doing; I consider it a gift to be able to uniquely create them for our customers.” She often observes many people with an idea of what they want but difficulty explaining it. Some customers occasionally provide a sample or image helping her picture what they have in mind. “I’m able to draw their preferences out of them. It’s enjoyable to make the process more personal by offering my creative insight.”

Becky’s skill has led their business back to its core. As a result, Rathbone’s Flair continues to specialize in silk and fresh flower arrangements. “This is a major emphasis for us,” says Matt Rathbone. “Our fresh flower business has increased annually allowing us to develop new opportunities. We deliver flowers and floral arrangements throughout the entire Tulsa metro area, including hospitals and funeral homes.”

Homes and offices receive a special touch from their decoration expertise. Even though spring is just around the corner, some folks are already planning for Christmas! Christmas decorating fills the fall season as many rely on Rathbone’s Flair for their holiday décor. “We were booked by customers throughout the Christmas season, including Tulsa International Airport, where we have decorated the past two years,” Matt Rathbone comments. No job is too big or too small to add a special touch to your home, office or event!

There is a sense of renewed energy at Rathbone’s Flair. Matt, Becky and their staff, some who are long term, are anticipating a fresh beginning with their recent consolidation. Customers can expect the service they have counted on through nearly five decades. Creative floral arrangements, holiday decorations and related supplies and collectibles are here to stay at Rathbone’s Flair. They are located where many first discovered them, so come see what’s new at Rathbone’s Flair. There’s something special inside for everyone!
