The PROJECT will feature fashion designs by up-and-coming local designers.

The PROJECT, headed by iicky+CICI, is quickly becoming the core of Tulsa’s fashion movement. iicky+CICI are two cutting-edge local fashion designers who have been active in Tulsa’s art and fashion community for several years.

The duo is committed to revealing and cultivating the talent Tulsa has to offer. The mission of The PROJECT is to advance Tulsa’s fashion industry and to support local business. With the success of the first annual fashion event, The PROJECT proved to assist local fashion designers in establishing a business relationship with local boutiques.

Each year, The PROJECT  features three up-and-coming local fashion and jewelry designers. Each designer is hand-picked, based on skill, creativity, work ethic and showmanship. This year's featured designers are Tonnie Martin Dosser, who is showing her fall 2012 collection, “Divine Whimsy,” Julie Shafer, and Hattie Eubanks’ “Sisters of the Moon.” The finale will be The PROJECT founders, designers iicky+CICI, showcasing their collections, iickygenes and CICI. The PROJECT will serve as a fashion show, and the designers’ fall 2012 collections will be available for purchase orders immediately following the show.

In addition to last year’s success, part of The PROJECT’s proceeds benefitted Asking For the Nations. This year, a portion of the proceeds will benefit Arts and Humanities Council of Tulsa’s After School and Summer Youth Outreach Program. The program is designed to assist underserved youth populations, and is infused with interactive learning programs, which enhance creative skills and concept retention.

The second annual fashion event will be held September 9, 2012 at Tulsa Community College’s Center for Creativity, located at 910 S. Boston, at 5 p.m. Tickets are available online for $25 at www.theprojecttulsa.eventbrite.com. More information can be found at www.theprojecttulsa.wix.com/2012.
