Catoosa Chamber members (front) Maryann Dunn, Debbie Snellings, Glenna Scott, Committee Chairman Brad Ward, (back) Leroy Alsup, Troy Anderson, Stephanie Johnson and Jamie Scrivner are gearing up for the annual golf tournament on June 7th.

For 13 years, the Catoosa Chamber of Commerce’s annual golf tournament has drawn hundreds of golfers who love the game and enjoy supporting local businesses. This year’s event is scheduled for Friday, June 7, at Cherokee Hills Golf Club in Catoosa. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., and the tournament will have a shot-gun start at 8:30 a.m.

The format will be a four-person scramble and the registration cost is $125 per individual player or $500 per team. Golfers will enjoy lunch at the clubhouse after their round of golf, paid golf, green and cart fees, as well as great prize drawings. Plus, the golfer lucky enough to be named the first-place winner will walk away with a $600 cash prize. Other cash prizes will be awarded as follows: $400 to the second place winner and $200 to the third place winner. There will also be $50 Visa gift cards given to the players with the longest drive, straightest drive and closest to the pin.  The Hole-In-One prize will be $15,000 in cash!

In addition to the golf awards, there will be several prize drawings. The great door prizes up for grabs include rounds of golf for four at Battle Creek Golf Club, Forrest Ridge Golf Course, Cherokee Hills Golf Course and The Golf Club of Oklahoma, as well a Deluxe Oil Change at Catoosa Kwik Lube. “We still have some unconfirmed prizes coming in as well,” said Glenna Scott, Catoosa Chamber representative. “We are excited about this year’s event and are confident it will be a tournament golfers won’t want to miss.”

The planning committee members for the golf tournament are Brad Ward, Lesley Vincent, Maryann Dunn, Troy Anderson, Glenna Scott, Debbie Snellings, Penny Chambers, Stephanie Johnson and Delayna Trease. They have been working hard to organize a great event for golfers who wish to participate and are looking forward to providing business representatives an opportunity to get to know one another better.

“My favorite thing about this event is the networking opportunity it provides,” said Scott. “It gives area business owners a chance to mingle and get to know one another outside of the office environment. But it also helps them establish connections between businesses to see how they can help each other be more successful.”

In addition to registering a golf team, individuals and businesses can show their support in other ways by donating door prize items, or sponsoring a team for $500 or a golf hole for $100. All proceeds from the tournament directly benefit the Catoosa Chamber of Commerce and its business support efforts.

“We are expecting anywhere from 80 to 108 golfers,” said Scott. “We have already reached our goal on tournament sponsorships, but we do still have openings for team entries and hole sponsorships.”

Tournament sponsors include Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Cox Business, CMC Recycling, Cowen Construction, Lloyd and Cindy Robson, RCB Bank, Reasor’s, Catoosa Small Animal Hospital, and LaQuinta Inn and Suites.
