Oklahoma Technical College, opening in January of 2009, will offer degree programs in automotive, diesel and welding.

Locals in the Tulsa metropolitan area interested in the fields of automotive, diesel and welding will soon have access to expanded educational opportunities. The management team of Community Care College is pleased to announce that they recently closed on the purchase of property of the former Crown BMW, Buick and Jeep Dealership at 4444 South Sheridan in Tulsa. The new location was purchased for an undisclosed amount and will undergo four to five months of construction in preparation for a second branch of Community Care College called Oklahoma Technical College.

The new campus will initially offer various certificate, diploma and associate degree programs in the technical professions of automotive, diesel and welding. “We are very excited about adding these programs to our existing high-demand curriculum offerings. The demand for qualified and certified technicians continues to grow, and our history of providing industry-leading education in a real-world learning environment insures that the employment needs of the community will be met, along with graduates achieving their career goals,” said Founder and Chief Executive Teresa Knox.

Oklahoma Technical College is scheduled to open in January of 2009. Cricket Kingham of Tooman Partners coordinated the transaction. Ky Chaffin with Bank of Oklahoma is providing the financing. SBA packaging is being provided by Rose Washington of Creative Capital/Tulsa Economic Development Corporation. CJC Architects is designing the remodeling project, with Cowen Construction performing the work.

Community Care College, founded in 1995, is a private career college licensed and accredited to offer various diploma and degree programs. Most recently, the college launched its virtual campus when it was approved to offer online courses and programs.

The college’s first branch, Clary Sage College, opened its new campus in March of 2007. This campus offers programs in cosmetology, spa, massage, esthetics and nail technology.
