The 11th annual Bethlehem Walk will feature a costumed cast of around 200 re-enacting scenes from the time of Christ’s birth.

For the eleventh year, Christview Christian Church in Tulsa will present its annual Bethlehem Walk, a 45-minute guided outdoor tour of an exciting and realistic nativity scene. A cast of around 200 gathers to re-enact the time of Christ’s birth. The cast is even accompanied by live camels, donkeys and sheep! “The Bethlehem Walk is our gift to the community,” says event publicity chair Vicky Bowlin. “It’s completely free to the public.” Make your reservations now – you won’t want to miss this special event, taking place December 3 through 6 at Christview Christian Church, 2525 S. Garnett.

Each guest becomes a member of a family that is traveling to Bethlehem to be counted in the census and to pay their taxes. Visitors encounter Roman soldiers, beggars, lepers, and even a host of heavenly angels along the road to Bethlehem. Each person has their “tax” papers stamped before they are allowed to enter the city, which is alive with activity. Shopkeepers and dancers in the streets welcome each guest, and some have wares to sample. Throughout the streets you will hear about the birth of a mysterious child in a manger, and learn the child’s life story.

Before embarking on the journey, walkers will enjoy an exciting and entertaining musical preshow. A free reception with warm drinks and snacks follows the walk to Bethlehem.

Tours will take place Thursday and Friday, December 3 and 4 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, December 5 and 6 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. On Thursday evening, guides will be available to interpret in Spanish. The path is lighted for safety and authenticity, and a limited number of golf carts will be available for those who are handicapped or disabled. “Large groups are welcome – bring scout troops, youth groups, senior citizen groups or any civic group,” says Vicky. “After visiting one time, you will want to make this an annual tradition for your family and friends.”

You’ll see the Three Wise Men and much more on your way to Bethlehem at Christview Christian Church’s annual holiday event.
