Dr. Tracy L. Standridge, D.C., of Standridge Clinic and Structural Rehabilitation treats a number of problems relating to the neck and back.  One of the most promising pieces of equipment he utilizes in the treatment of neck and back pain is the DRX9000.

The DRX9000 offers a painless, drug-free, non-surgical treatment offering new hope for severe or chronic pain sufferers. Low back and neck pain are common and debilitating.

According to Dr. Standridge, “The DRX9000 Spinal Decompression Unit is the industry leader in the treatment of severe or chronic low back and neck pain. Its breakthrough technology provides relief from severe back and neck pain by gently reducing the pressure within spinal discs — without surgery or other invasive procedures.”

According to Dr. Standridge, “Low back pain can be caused by a number of factors ranging from injuries to the effects of aging.  The spinal cord is protected by the vertebrae, which are made of bone.  Between each vertebra are soft discs with a ligamentous outer layer. These discs function as shock absorbers to protect the vertebra and the spinal cord. Many of the problems that cause back pain are the result of herniation and degeneration of the intervertebral disc. Degeneration is a process where wear and tear causes deterioration of the disc. Herniations, or bulging of the disc are protrusions from the disc that press on surrounding nerves, causing pain or numbness.

“The DRX9000 Spinal Decompression works by gently reducing the pressure within spinal discs of severe back and neck pain sufferers.”

Dr. Standridge continues, “These bones of the spine are slowly and methodically separated. As the vertebrae are separated, pressure is slowly reduced within the disc until a vacuum is formed. This vacuum draws the gelatinous center of the disc back into the disc, thereby reducing the disc bulges or disc herniation. Significant disc bulge reduction removes pressure off the spinal nerves and drastically reduces pain and disability. This drawing vacuum also pulls much-needed oxygen, nutrients and fluid into injured and degenerated discs allowing the healing to begin.

“The treatment motion is computer controlled to provide gentle and painless decompression of the injured spinal discs. Published scientific studies report effectiveness of Spinal Decompression treatment to be 86 percent to 94 percent.  And, spinal decompression is painless, drug free, and non-surgical. Comparisons of pre-treatment MRIs to imaging taken after the completion of treatment have shown significant, often dramatic, reductions in disc bulges and disc herniations,” Dr. Standridge adds. “The DRX9000 meets the needs of today’s patients, offering them the quality of life they deserve.”

Most patients report a reduction in pain after the first few sessions on the DRX9000. Typically, significant improvement is obtained by the second week of treatment.

Following treatment on the DRX9000 Spinal Decompression Machine, Dr. Standridge recommends follow up treatments of electrical muscle stimulation on the Neuro Care tm 1000.  “This is a non-invasive therapy used for the strengthening of muscle groups around the vertebrae and disc that we have decompressed,” he explains.  “It has been found to be very effective in restoring atrophied muscles.”

“In addition,” says the Doctor, “We encourage sessions on the Power Plate, a form of advanced vibration technology.  The Power Plate offers a host of benefits such as considerably improving muscle strength, flexibility, increased range of motion, bone density and stimulating blood circulation.  Studies have proven Power Plate’s ability to reduce muscle pain and soreness and to expedite the recovery of damaged muscles and tendons.”

In summation, Dr. Standridge states, “The Power Plate has already made a substantial impact in the world of sports medicine in strength and conditioning.  However, Power Plate is not merely a training method for elite athletes, but also for individuals young and old, regardless of their physical and neurological condition, who want to live longer, healthier lives.

“Through our clinic’s recommended treatments for severe or chronic back and neck pain, we have seen patients’ lives restored.  And that’s priceless,” concludes Dr. Standridge.
