Dr. Bret Anderson, owner of Anderson Dental Arts (formerly Oklahoma Dental Practice)

Dr. G. Bret Anderson, DDS, FAGD, is a graduate of Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, and of the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry. After practicing his profession in Okmulgee for 15 years, he joined the Oklahoma Dental Practice in Broken Arrow earlier this year. In mid-June, he became the owner and changed the name to Anderson Dental Arts.

Dr. Anderson earned the title of Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry last year. To attain this accomplishment, one must be a member in good standing of the Academy for three years, meet the requirement of 500 hours of continuing education and pass a written examination. Dr. Anderson has diligently worked on reaching this goal since 1993.

In addition to general dentistry, Anderson Dental Arts offers a variety of additional features and services. Dr. Anderson utilizes the Erbium Laser, the nation’s first laser to be used in the repair of cavities and treatment of tooth decay. As the only laser approved for hard tissue procedures, it is also used for soft tissue work during gum surgery. Approved by the Food and Drug Administration in 1997, the laser has the ability to treat a tooth with no anesthetic, and it leaves the surface of the tooth extremely clean. The laser can remove a cavity without the pressure and vibration the patient experiences with a drill.

Invisalign is also offered at Anderson Dental Arts. Utilizing a series of custom-made, removable, nearly-clear trays, the process straightens teeth and is used as a substitute for traditional wire braces. “There are obvious benefits to using this product,” Dr. Anderson says. “Invisalign trays can be removed for good hygiene, and, unlike regular braces, gum health can be maintained during the orthodontic treatment. Patients can still eat whatever they want because the aligners are removable.” The developer of the product says that it has proven to be effective in both clinical research and in practices nationwide. Over 250,000 people are already smiling more thanks to Invisalign. The before-and-after photographs of patients who have used this product are impressive.

One of the friendly faces you will see when visiting Anderson Dental Arts in Broken Arrow is that of Angie Monroe, chair-side assistant.
