Director Janet Beil and Kayla Parnell of Sapulpa Main Street are excited about the Jingle Bells Birthday Bash, being held in honor of the sweepstakes’ tenth year.

Ten thousand dollars cash – it could be yours. Yes, it’s time for Sapulpa’s annual Jingle Bells Sweepstakes, now celebrating its tenth year. “We’re having a Jingle Bells Birthday Bash in honor of our tenth year,” says Sapulpa Main Street Director Janet Beil. “It’s going to be a lot of fun. It’s one of our favorite times of the year, and this year we’ve got 113 merchants participating.” But that’s not all: November and December hold a veritable smorgasbord of holiday events in downtown Sapulpa.

Sapulpa kicks off the Jingle Bells Sweepstakes on Saturday, November 1 with the Christmas Open House Downtown event. “This event will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday,” says Beil. “Everyone will have Christmas music playing.”

The Lights On ceremony is November 20, the Thursday before Thanksgiving, at the courthouse gazebo. “There will be a countdown and the buildings and trees will light up!” says Beil. “Kids from the elementary schools will sing, the community band will play, and Santa might make an appearance. This is really a time when the community gathers together.” It’s also a great time to get a head start on some Christmas shopping.

The Holiday Stroll, now in its third year, has proven so popular it’s back on for two nights: December 4 and 11 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. This event includes carriage rides, carolers, Christmas music and treats. “The carriage rides this year include the Burnett Mansion. It was recently renovated, and you can stop, tour the mansion, and get back on the carriage. This is the first time it’s really been available on Main Street.” Retailers will be open late, so you’ll have an opportunity to shop at hours you normally wouldn’t be able to. “Santa’s House will be on Martha’s Corner,” says Beil. “We’ll have a professional photographer there, so you can get pictures with Santa, and you can get pictures on the carriage rides as well. This is really a cool, fun thing to bring your kids to. It’s quaint and nostalgic, and it’s a lot better than shopping at the mall.”

Enjoy a carriage ride at the Holiday Stroll in downtown Sapulpa December 4 and 11.

The Jingle Bells Birthday Bash drawing is Saturday, December 13 at 1 p.m. This is your chance to win $10,000, and you must be present to win. “Come out, shop, have lunch and come to the drawing,” says Beil. “The $10,000 is what everybody comes out for, and we’ll have some other prizes as well. Lori Fulbright from Channel 6 is our emcee, as she has been every year. The drawing will be on the radio, as well.

“All these events are to keep people shopping in Sapulpa, and to help keep our sales tax dollars here. And we have more than just shops – we have so many other services and businesses here, and these events are a way that everyone can give back to their customers.”
