Sapulpa Golf Tournament Set for June 20
Attention golfers! The Sapulpa Annual Chamber Golf Classic will be Friday, June 20 at the Sapulpa Municipal Golf Course.

Attention golfers! The Sapulpa Annual Chamber Golf Classic will be Friday, June 20 at the Sapulpa Municipal Golf Course. This is a day of fun for local golfers and the sole source of revenue for the Sapulpa Chamber Foundation. The foundation is the nonprofit division of the Chamber of Commerce that owns and maintains the century-old building at 101 E. Dewey.
“The community has made the Chamber Foundation Golf Classic one of the best events in Sapulpa,” said Betty Calley, former executive director of the Sapulpa Chamber of Commerce. “They know the purpose for the money and that we use it wisely in the community,” she said.
Each year this tournament brings together golfers, businesses and dozens of volunteers to raise money while having a great time. More than 40 teams participate annually, and sponsorships have steadily increased.
Teams consist of a four-person scramble. Participants can register collectively or individually. The cost is $75 per golfer and includes cart and green fees, two mulligans, a lunch ticket, two drink tickets and a goodie bag. A discount is available for two or more teams that register together. All golfers are entered into several prize-winning drawings throughout the day.
The event has morning and afternoon tee times. Morning tee time is at 7:30 – these golfers will be treated to a continental breakfast at 7. All golfers will enjoy lunch at 11:30, when members of the Sapulpa Fire Department grill their delicious burgers. Some claim that this meal is the best part of the tournament! Afternoon tee time follows at 1.
For those who want to gain a competitive edge, mulligans and string by the foot are available prior to tee time. Cash prizes will be awarded for the top three teams, morning and afternoon: $100 per player for the first-place teams, $75 per player for the second-place teams and $50 per player for the third-place teams. Prizes will also be awarded for longest drive, closest to the hole and longest putt. In addition, Bob Hurley Buick Pontiac GMC is sponsoring a hole-in-one opportunity to win a 2008 vehicle.
Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum sponsorship packages are available in amounts of $250 to $2,000, or sponsors can donate prizes. Bronze sponsorship includes one hole, Silver includes one team, Gold includes one team and one hole, and Platinum includes two teams and two holes. Refreshment carts and hole sponsorships are available for $100. Each sponsor will receive special recognition at the tournament.
Entry deadline for the Sapulpa Annual Chamber Golf Classic is Sunday, June 15. The tournament takes place Friday, June 20, or in case of rain, Friday, June 27. For registration and sponsorship information, call the Sapulpa Chamber Foundation at (918) 224-0170.
