Lucas Metal Work’s Metal Roofing and Metal Buildings products are used every single day in all industries. Over the past 47 years, the company has developed a stellar reputation across Oklahoma and the Midwest, offering the highest quality products and impeccable customer service. What many people may not know, however, is that residential customers can bring this same excellence to their own homes with Lucas metal roofing and metal buildings.

Metal roofs have a number of advantages over other types of roofing materials. They not only look sleek and polished, thus increasing a home’s curb appeal, they are also highly energy-efficient and long-lasting. “Our metal roofs are guaranteed to last a long time, much longer than standard roofing materials – we offer a 40-year warranty,” says Tammy Laakso, marketing and sales manager for Lucas Metal Works. “The large selection of options is another advantage. Our 26 gauge metal panels are available in 16 different colors.”

Metal roofs are highly durable, which is critical in the ever-changing weather landscape of Oklahoma, where within a few weeks it’s possible to see snow, ice, sleet, sun, rain, high winds and tornadoes.

Lucas Metal Works also serves residential customers with the addition of metal buildings to their properties. “Metal buildings are great for storage space or work space. We have many customers who purchase metal buildings for hobbies and storing cars, airplanes, boats and RVs. Metal buildings are also used as greenhouses,” says Tammy.
“The vinyl insulation used on the inside of the metal buildings keeps the noise factor down while being energy efficient. These affordable buildings are a useful and sound investment to add to your property.”

Tammy says that in addition to their top-tier products and talented team of professionals, what sets Lucas Metal Works apart is the strong relationship they maintain with their customers. “Lucas has been a trusted, respected name in the industry for almost five decades. We work closely with our customers from start to finish and beyond.”

In 1968, Raymond Lucas started up a small custom metal works shop, and it was not long before his ideas outgrew his humble space. What began as a one-room shop is now a sprawling facility in Ochelata with a team of nearly 50 employees. They are expanding their facilities this year with the addition of a new building.

Lucas offers a variety of services in addition to metal roofing and buildings, including equipment such as hay spears, bale unrollers, rock bucket, grapples, pallet forks, and disc-mower caddies. Their signature piece of equipment is the Groundhog Arena Tool, designed by
Raymond himself. It is a unique tool that breaks up and levels out dirt, making the surface safer and less impactful on horses’ hooves. It has become the tool of choice for the National Finals Rodeo, as well as numerous other rodeo associations, farms and agricultural businesses. “The original unit, built almost 20 years ago, is still in use today in the Lucas family arena,” says Tammy.
