Discount Mike’s Tire & Automotive is bringing back the days of good ­ old-fashioned customer service.

Do you remember a time when doctors made house calls? What about when you went to fill up a tank of gas and they pumped the gas and cleaned your windshield? Some remember vividly when customer service was top priority and others have never truly experienced it, but Mike Gauldin of Discount Mike’s Tire & Automotive is working to bring those days of service back.

“At Discount Mike’s, we focus on providing the very best service and prices possible to our customers. Our goal is to give residents of Broken Arrow old-fashioned service that your grandfather would have expected,” says Mike. “The industry has seen a big shift in the past few years. The majority of consumers are doing four to eight hours of research on the Internet before purchasing tires – they know what they want. We recognize that many of our customers have this knowledge, and we do everything we can to help them with their needs and wants, and at the best price available.”

Discount Mike not only wants to service his customers, but the entire community. “I’m a very community-oriented person, and Discount Mike’s is involved with many facets of the ­community including schools, police and fire departments, churches and other local organizations.” One of their recent endeavors was sponsoring the Miss Broken Arrow Pageant, which provides cash scholarships and college tuition waivers to winners. Mike is extremely proud that Discount Mike’s was named the 2010-2011 Broken Arrow Public School Partner of the Year. Discount Mike’s technicians conducted after-school training for students of North Intermediate High School to learn how to change tires, check tire tread and air, and keep their cars in good general condition. They also helped equip teachers and school nurses with essential supplies. Just a few other organizations the company has supported are Broken Arrow Neighbors, Citizens Police Academy, Optimist Club, Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce, and Leadership Broken Arrow.

Discount Mike’s is a one-stop shop for tires, automotive repair services and factory maintenance. They carry all major tire brands: Bridgestone, Michelin, BFGoodrich, Goodyear and many others. Discount Mike’s uses state-of-the-art equipment to provide complete automotive services for all makes and models of ­vehicles, including flat repair, oil changes, full brake services, ­alignments, shocks and struts, tune-ups, engine and transmission repair, and diagnostics. All technicians are ASE certified and receive continual educational training to remain current with industry trends. The newest ­addition to the service lineup is complete parts and service for performance vehicles.   

When customers bring in their vehicle for servicing or new tires, they may wait in the lounge while work is performed, or a Discount Mike’s employee will drive them home or to work while services are completed. “The new lounge was designed to make the waiting process as ­pleasant and friendly as possible through the use of pleasing ­colors, comfortable furniture, a coffee bar and complimentary bottled water,” says Mike. “The lounge is equipped with a flat screen TV, adding to the relaxing atmosphere throughout the store.”
