Olga Arnold, owner of Skin Ambitions, uses PRP technology to soften sun damage and aging skin issues for both male and female patients.
Olga Arnold is the owner of Skin Ambitions Medical Spa. Olga received extensive training in her native Russia, where she earned a medical degree and a PhD in epidemiology, plus a master’s degree in healthcare administration from Oklahoma State University. She also worked in the department of dermatology at OU Health Sciences in Tulsa. Olga has established herself as an outstanding Tulsa aesthetic provider and operates under the guidance of an experienced medical director.
One of Skin Ambitions’ newest treatments is PRP (platelet rich plasma) skin rejuvenation therapy. “The goal of our PRP treatment is to improve skin tone and texture, tighten skin, and soften lines and pores,” says Olga. “Results begin showing in three to four weeks after the initial treatment session and continue to improve with time. Generally, three treatment sessions are recommended and are spaced one to two months apart until desired results are reached.” Skin Ambitions uses PRP therapy in treating fine lines, anti-aging and wrinkles, pores and pigmentation, acne scars, superficial scars, cellulite indications, stretch marks, and deep scarring. “PRP acts to improve overall quality, tightness and texture of the skin.”
For the process, a small amount of blood (similar to that drawn for a lab test) is drawn from the patient. The blood is placed into a centrifuge and spun at a very rapid rate to separate the platelets. The platelet-rich plasma is then activated to release at least eight essential growth factors and signaling proteins when applied either by injection or a Dermapen used in skin rejuvenation treatment. The injections take only a few moments and are only mildly uncomfortable. A topical anesthesia is applied for the process. “The procedure itself only takes about 15 minutes,” says Olga. Because all constitutes retrieved in PRP are exclusively from the patient, there is virtually no risk of intolerance, infection or rejection. Total time including drawing blood, separating the platelet-rich plasma, patient preparation and treatment takes about an hour.
The procedure is quick, relatively painless, and requires no post procedure care or time off from daily events. If the patient has mild swelling, redness, or bruising, they fade within one to three days. PRP treatment is administered to promote local tissue growth and repair of damaged tissue. It is natural and non-toxic with no adverse or allergic reaction. PRP treatment is convenient and provides targeted and accelerated healing with a short recovery time, rapid results and long-term benefits.
