Mindy Gerving and Denise Nelson are willing to develop cosmetology professionals with determination and the will to succeed.

For those who have not had the pleasure of visiting Claremore Beauty College, it is a worthwhile trip. Located at 200 N. Cherokee in downtown Claremore, the college is convenient for both students and clients.

Duane and Denise Nelson own Claremore Beauty College, a post-secondary educational institution for studies in the cosmetology arts and sciences. Having been in the cosmetology field for 28 years, Denise says her mission was “to develop cosmetology professionals with determination and the will to succeed.” Her goal has always been to develop people by applying their abilities to careers in cosmetology.

Claremore Beauty College maintains a high standard of teaching and focuses attention to each student’s individual learning needs. Students are prepared to obtain their cosmetology licenses and to be successful and productive in their careers in the industry. All aspects of cosmetology are taught at Claremore Beauty College, and students learn how to become successful.

Aside from developing future cosmetology professionals, Claremore Beauty College provides high-quality services to clients at affordable prices. Students who have previously had many hours of hands-on experience perform the services and are supervised by qualified instructors throughout the process. Interaction with patrons not only helps students develop their cosmetology skills, but it helps them develop courtesy and respect. “We have had some students that did not know what respect was or how to properly treat others,” Denise says. “We work with students to change that.”

The college is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. A wide variety of salon services are learned by students and offered to clients: haircutting, hairstyling, hair color, permanent waving, facials, manicures, pedicures and eyebrow arching.

Enrollment is available by appointment and typically occurs every six weeks. Students must be 16 years of age and have either a high school diploma or a GED. Financial aid is also available for qualifying students.

Claremore Beauty College is accredited by the National Accrediting Commission of Cosmetology Arts and Sciences. To attain such accreditation, schools must be “designed to prepare students for careers in the profession of cosmetology arts and sciences, which serve to supplement the practical, scientific and business skills of the cosmetology profession.” It is important for accredited schools to reflect practices that provide students with the opportunity to improve their knowledge and skills in the field of cosmetology art and sciences. Moral and ethical standards are adhered to by students of Claremore Beauty College.

Denise and fellow instructor, Mindy Gerving, have a combined cosmetology experience of 41 years. They are ready to help interested students pursue careers in cosmetology. Call the Claremore Beauty College today at (918) 341-4370 or visit www.claremorebeautycollege.com.
