Salesperson Kara Scott and owner Randy Smith of Plum Gold Jewelers in Claremore are celebrating the store’s 35 years in business this month.

Owner Randy Smith founded Plum Gold Jewelers in 1974. “We are celebrating 35 years of doing business in the city of Claremore, thanks to our many loyal customers,” says Smith.

Smith is a fourth generation jeweler and traces his jewelry heritage back to the 1880s to Phillips Jewelers, founded by his great grandfather in Wichita, Kansas. Smith’s grandfather, Dr. L.J. Phillips, owned another Phillips Jewelers store in Arkansas City, Kansas for 40 years. You will also occasionally find the three Smith children, Ryan, Jacob and Tiffany, working with their father Randy at Plum Gold in Claremore.
