Pathways Adult Learning Center is dedicated to creating a supportive environment where adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) can learn, grow, and thrive. Pathways provides an enrichment program focused on education, life skills, and community, with the John Hamby Scholarship Fund ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent students from participating.
The scholarship fund has made a significant impact on students like Claire, who joined Pathways earlier this year after facing considerable challenges. When Claire and her caregiver moved to Tulsa, they had limited resources, were unhoused, and needed support. Thanks to the John Hamby Scholarship, Claire was able to attend Pathways, where she has found stability, friendship, and a community that believes in her potential.
“Stories like Claire’s remind us why the Hamby Scholarship Fund is so essential,” said Monique Scraper, Executive Director of Pathways. “Many families are navigating complex challenges, and financial assistance can be the difference that allows a student to benefit from the structure, relationships, and sense of belonging that Pathways offers. When the community invests in this fund, it makes our program accessible to those who need it most.”
