The Fall Cash Giveaway is just one event in which Owasso maximizes the profits of businesses investing in the Chamber while creating family fun and excitement as the holiday season approaches.
Who wouldn’t like to win $5,000 cash just before the holidays, and have a lot of fun in doing so? Owasso’s 2008 Fall Cash Giveaway runs until Saturday, September 20, when one lucky individual will win the $5,000 cash grand prize!
The Fall Cash Giveaway is the offspring of Owasso’s previous Christmas in July promotion. The Giveaway is designed to stimulate sales for Owasso businesses, while making shopping in the fair city exciting for residents and visitors as they patronize participating merchants.
Businesses and merchants are asked to invest $250 to participate in the promotion. In doing so, each business receives numbered two-part tickets that are distributed to consumers as they make purchases at participating businesses. One ticket is given out for each $10 of merchandise purchased. Tickets will be collected on September 19 from each merchant and added to the master hopper from which the winning ticket will be drawn. The winning ticket must be presented to win the $5,000 cash prize.
The Owasso Chamber of Commerce does all of the advertising and promotion, prints the tickets, and creates signage supporting the campaign. A direct mail piece promoting the event will also be mailed to each Owasso household, and the Chamber newsletter will promote the event and supporting activities. The 30-day promotion culminates with multiple activities, including the announcement of the $5,000 cash winner, at noon on September 20, 2008.
Owasso Chamber of Commerce President Gary Akin says that merchants and residents alike look forward to the Chamber’s Fall Cash Giveaway campaign.
All festivities supporting the Fall Cash Giveaway will take place at the Owasso High School football stadium and the Owasso Mid-High School. There will be an indoor barbecue commencing at 11 a.m. at the Mid-High. The event’s silent auction will begin at the same time and will feature merchandise and services donated by local merchants and businesses.
At noon the action will move to the OHS football stadium for the drawing of the $5,000 cash grand prize. As soon as the winning ticket is drawn and claimed, activities move back to the Owasso Mid-High School for a live auction.
“This year’s exciting list of live auction items includes a LASIK eye surgery package, complete orthodontic services, a pre-owned automobile, cameras, an electric scooter, automotive products and services, newspaper advertising space, tickets to see ventriloquist Jeff Dunham at the BOK Center, chiropractic services, a hotel package, furniture products, electronic equipment and much, much more,” said Gary Akin, Owasso Chamber president. “There will be a total of 100 silent auction items and 100 live auction items on which to bid.”
It is still not too late for businesses to get involved in Owasso’s Fall Cash Giveaway. For complete details, call the Owasso Chamber of Commerce at (918) 272-2141.
