Lucas Metal Works uses high-quality steel to produce building and roofing materials, agricultural equipment and custom welding. Customers can rest easy knowing they are investing in steel or aluminum products that will look good, stand the test of time and, most importantly, save energy, time and money.
In 1968, Raymond Lucas started up a small custom metal works shop, and it was not long before Lucas’s big ideas outgrew his humble workshop. Driven by the demand for quality and efficiency in design, Lucas filled niches in several industries and saw business boom over the decades. What began as a one-room workshop now stands as a sprawling facility that employs a small army of metal experts. Nestled amongst the farms and ranches of Ochelata, just outside Tulsa, Lucas Metal Works continues to lead the way with several divisions of products and services offered throughout the Midwest.
As homeowners and business leaders look for ways to increase durability, save money and become more energy-efficient, Lucas Metal Works offers a solution with their expansive line of metal roofs. Metal panel roofs not only look sleek and last much longer than standard roofs, but save money and energy as well. “We use 26 gauge metal panels and provide 16 colors to choose from, and back our materials by offering a 40 year warranty,” explains Tammy Laakso, marketing and sales manager. In this age of increasing energy costs and decreasing resources, installing a metal roof is a sound investment.
Lucas Metal Works provides a full line of components for industrial, agricultural, commercial and home structures. Because everything is manufactured at their facility, they are able to offer affordable, innovative designs and options to suit virtually any need, from that add-on workshop in the backyard to commercial structures, like storage facilities or warehouses.
The Groundhog Arena Tool – designed in 1996 by Raymond Lucas (founder of Lucas Metal Works) – is popular at rodeos and similar environments, and is considered the signature product of Lucas Metal Works. A father and grandfather of barrel racers, Mr. Lucas saw a need for one tool that could efficiently groom dirt surfaces for arenas. Lucas designed and manufactured the Ground Hog. This unique tool breaks up the dirt and levels it out, providing a better, safer dirt surface for horses and racers. Lucas’s Ground Hog replaced a timely and labor-intensive process that required multiple tools. An extensive list of associations and events use the Ground Hog, including the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas and the Better Barrel Races World Finals in Oklahoma City. “The original unit, built over 17 years ago, is still in use today in the Lucas family arena,” boasts Laakso.
In addition to the Ground Hog, Lucas Metal Works manufactures a broad range of farming and agricultural equipment and services. This line features the same high quality craftsmanship and durability that made the Ground Hog famous, and includes tools like hay spears, bale unrollers, bucket grapples, pallet forks and disc-mower caddies. Custom welding services are also offered. With a history of creativity and quality metal working, it is likely their team of skilled welders can provide the services you have in mind.
