Shopping at an antique store is a one-of-a-kind experience. The items are unique, as owners do not just order from a warehouse or a catalog. Most “finds” are made available after a detailed search. Wade and Sherri Faust, owners of Remember When… Antiques in Claremore, greatly enjoy the process of operating their antique store and are always on the lookout for the best in distinctive items. At Remember When… Antiques, holiday shopping is no chore, but instead a delight.

“Unique gifts are closer to the heart,” states Sherri. “Of course, there is always the additional bonus of not having to deal with large mall crowds.”

Wade grew up around antiques; when the right property became available, he and Sherri seized upon the opportunity to build and expand their business. The highway location has proven to be very convenient to customers, and the atmosphere is comfortable and reassuring.

“We pay attention to our customer’s needs and desires,” says Sherri. “We like to keep the store very welcoming, well-lit and nicely clean. We know our dealers, so we can personally walk shoppers to the booths that are most likely to have what they are looking for. We also encourage people to take the time to visit each booth individually.”

Many of the store’s dealers have a dedicated following, and each has something that is sure to appeal to everyone. Furniture selections include dressers, armoires, tables, chairs and more. The store does carry the Shabby Chic furniture line, which is custom made, one-of-a-kind pieces. There is also a wide array of accent pieces: shelving, artwork, lamps, chandeliers, Western and primitive-themed items and much, much more.

Christmas is a time of giving and Remeber When… Antiques would like to take an entire week to give back to our customers, so be sure to mark your calenders for our 1st Annual Customer Appreciation Week December 5 to 10. We will have daily gift certificate drawings of $25 to $50, special booth sales, free snacks and gourmet coffee and extended hours 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Collectible glass and dishware can really take one back in memories. Each piece evokes nostalgia and are beautiful additions to any home. Sherri comments that Susie, who works with the Fausts, is especially gifted with decorating style and can provide “consultation with a cup of coffee.”

“We do enjoy being able to take the time to assist people with their decorating needs. This service is part of our personalized approach,” says Sherri. “We also have a working request list. If a customer is searching for an item that we do not have, we make a point of looking for whatever the customer wants whenever we are buying for the store.”

Be sure and look for specials during the holiday season, as many of the dealers will place their wares on sale. The store hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday. For more information, call (918) 341-7085 or visit Remember When… Antiques at 19845 E. Highway 20 during regular business hours.
