MegaWatts owner Doug Watts lives up to his motto, “Once you go Mac, you never go back.” In high school, he was one of only two students chosen to work on the school’s first computer, an Apple II. With degrees in engineering, Doug continued to work with computers in some capacity until founding MegaWatts in 1997.

The company specializes in repairing all types of computers, cell phones and tablets. This skilled team can do it all – from installing the latest software on a device or virus removal, to replacing shattered iPhone screens.

For those of us not technologically inclined, device purchase or repair can be a daunting task, but MegaWatts seeks to make the process simple, streamlined, efficient and fair. All of the repairs are done on-site, and if you can’t bring your device in, they will come to you.

“Personal service is the most important thing for us,” says Doug. “Being honest and explaining to customers, so that they get the best information to make a decision. We won’t charge for anything that doesn’t need to be fixed.”

Apart from device repair, MegaWatts sells new televisions, tech accessories such as bluetooth speakers, and theater room furniture, as well as a wide variety of refurbished Apple products, including MacBooks, iMacs and iPads for a fraction of retail price.

“Generally, our Macs cost about 50 percent less than when brand new, and run just as well,” Doug said.

What exactly does refurbished mean? Simply that the machine was previously used. Doug and his team first wipe the software off the device, and then install a fresh, current operating system – leaving you with a computer or tablet that runs like new without taking as big a toll on your finances. Doug said he recommends buying refurbished, because it’s like getting the device “broken in.”

“Usually, if a problem is going to present itself, it will right away,” said Doug. “When you buy refurbished, you’re getting a device that’s already had all of its kinks worked out. It allows you to get a great machine that runs only a fraction of a second slower than a brand new one while saving hundreds of dollars.”

Doug started his business by buying excess inventory from manufacturers like Apple, HP, IBM, Compaq, and Packard Bell.  Although times have changed, MegaWatts still buys large volumes of excess inventory of various makes and models.  They currently have a large selection of NEW HP and Dell laptops and desktops, as well as video surveillance systems by Swann and Lorex.  MegaWatts takes pride in having the best price anywhere.  If you should find a lower price, they’ll try to beat it.

The vast array of computers, tablets, televisions, tech accessories and Macs will get you in the door, but the friendliness and knowledgeableness of the staff will keep you coming back. MegaWatts offers unmatched expertise at unmatched prices. If you don’t see it on their website, they can probably still get it for you.  Call or stop by today.
