There are numerous medical spas around town. So how do you select the best one? Kelley Tompkins, co-owner and director of Emerge Medical Day Spa, says she has the answer.

“Our staff makes the difference,” explains Kelley. “All 15 staff members have at least five years of experience in their fields. I am confident every person here is the best at what they do.” Keeping up with all of the latest training and technology falls under the leadership of Dr. Tracey Childers, medical director and co-owner. Dr. Childers is board certified in facial plastic surgery. She strongly believes in combining the most advanced technology in the industry with friendliness and a genuine passion for helping others.

All staff members work together as a team. Their primary goal is to make the customer comfortable while helping to make him or her look and feel their best. A softly-lit waiting room with a fireplace provides a quiet and relaxing moment before entering a treatment room. Regardless of the treatment, each client is invited to put away their street clothes in a personal locker and slip into a plush and luxurious robe. These robes were made famous as one of Oprah’s “favorite things.” Emerge clients agree it’s one of their favorite things too.

A broad menu of services includes massage and body treatments, spa facials, microdermabrasion, medical facial peels, Botox and facial fillers, laser treatments, HCG medical weight loss, sclerotherapy vein treatment, LED light therapy, and the HydraFacial treatment.

Emerge was one of the first medical spas in Tulsa to offer the new deep cleansing HydraFacial treatment that was introduced by Dr. Andrew Ordon of “The Doctors” television program. The HydraFacial deep cleans and hydrates the skin in just 20 minutes. This alternative to microdermabrasion produces wonderful results in a shorter length of time.

The HydraFacial causes skin to soak up moisture. The ability to moisturize the skin separates this technique from all other skin resurfacing procedures. “People can literally come here on their lunch hours,” says Kelley, “and they can put on makeup and go back to work looking great.”

Another Emerge feature is the triniti laser facelift. This three-treatment skin series achieves tight and firm skin appearance, safely treats tiny spider vessels and red and brown spots, and smoothes deeper lines around the nose and mouth. According to Kelley, the triniti makeover produces facelift results without surgery.

The idea of offering a makeover to a deserving individual became a reality last year at Emerge Medical Day Spa. Members of the public submitted nominations and explained why their nominee deserved a makeover. The response was far greater than the staff ever imagined.

In October, the 2011 Face of Emerge makeover recipient was announced. Other businesses and service providers teamed with Emerge to award a $10,000 package that includes services from a personal trainer and a hairstylist. Kelley says they have already received calls from business owners that want to participate in next year’s event.
