Life moves along at a dizzying pace. Major events happen to all of us and if we don’t take the time to document them, it is easy to forget all the important details. One way to fix this problem is by scrapbooking.

Scrapbooking has come a long way from glue sticks and construction paper. These days, scrapbooks are so intricate and ornate, they are actual pieces of art. Pages can be adorned with everything from ribbons and rhinestones to photos, beads and glitter. The only rule when it comes to “scrapping” is, there are no rules. You can be as imaginative as you want. Each project is as unique as the individual putting it all together.

Scrapbooking is a terrific hobby too. Anyone and everyone can make a lasting memory; no artistic talent is necessary. “One of the best methods for coming up with new ideas is to attend a crop party,” explains Jerri Ann Curry, owner of The Scrapbook Store, located at 8751 N. 117th E. Ave. in Owasso. “Crop nights are scheduled for the convenience of those who wish to get away and get scrapping, and it’s a fun way to get together with friends and share creative ideas.”

Crop parties normally occur on Friday nights and Saturdays. Just call The Scrapbook Store for times and availability. Crop nights are the perfect way to set aside a few hours to work on your layouts, cards and photos. Not only will you have a large block of uninterrupted scrapbooking time, but you also will have access to many of their tools including the AccuCut and Cricut machines. Everyone attending receives a 20 percent discount on all regular priced merchandise that evening, along with drinks and snacks. Simply pay a $5 deposit and your spot is held.

With proms and graduations right around the corner, now is a great time to begin documenting your child’s once-in-a-lifetime moments. And The Scrapbook Store is a great place to find all your school pride products. They carry a huge variety of papers, embellishments, albums, and jewelry for all local schools. Claremore Zebras, Collinsville Cardinals, Owasso Rams, Rejoice Eagles, Sperry Pirates and Skiatook Bulldogs are just a few of the school items they carry. If you don’t see your school’s colors, they can create custom titles and die cuts in those colors. Plus, they offer all students and teachers a 15 percent discount on all supplies needed for school projects.

Be sure to mark your calendars for April 26 and 27. The Scrapbook Store is excited to hold a Customer Garage Sale. It will be the perfect time to come by and get great deals for all your current projects. If you’re interested in selling items at the Garage Sale, the cost is $5 per table.
