Nicole Schultz is the director of Lord of Life’s upcoming summer camps.

In April of this year, Lord of Life Lutheran Church opened the doors to its new location at 13160 S. Memorial in Bixby. Lord of Life is a small church with an ability to focus on personal relationships and ministries at a level that many larger churches are unable to offer.

“Our mission is to reach the people who don’t go to church, especially the disenfranchised people who might have gone to church in the past,” says Lead Servant Jonathan Schultz. “We just want to minister to you, whether you come to our church or not. A large part of our ministry is just praying for people.”

Another part of Lord of Life’s ministry is a series of summer camps for children in first through sixth grades. In June and July, Lord of Life will host seven themed week-long camps. Nicole Schultz is the director of these summer camps. She has a great deal of experience working with children’s ministries at various churches and with vacation bible school. “We’re a friendly and welcoming church,” she says. “We want you to come and feel welcome at our church and our camps. We want you to grow with us.”

Camp themes include drama, dance, American Sign Language, arts and crafts, music, and cheer. “At our camps, kids will learn the basics in these areas. We won’t get too deep, but they’ll learn a lot,” says Nicole. “It will all be very hands-on. For dance, we’ll learn the basics of tap, ballet and jazz; for drama we’ll have a field trip to a high school improv camp; for arts and crafts we’ll do a lot of paper crafts and painting. It’ll be a lot of fun. And we’ll learn about Christianity and the Bible in each session, too.” The cost is $40 per camp, and you can register online at www.lordoflifeok.org.

“We love kids. We’re a place for kids – we have all kinds of great stuff for them,” says Jonathan Schultz. “We’ve lowered the price of the camps, and we have a new children’s ministry director coming on board.”

Lord of Life is a church plant of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod (LCMS), which has committed to starting over 2,000 new churches across the United States by 2017. Lord of Life is sponsored by King of Kings Lutheran Church in Glenpool.

Lord of Life holds worship services at 11 a.m. every Sunday, with Sunday school and Bible study at 9:30 – they’d love to have you. Lord of Life is also hosting a number of twelve-step programs, including Narcotics Anonymous, Overeaters Anonymous, and GriefShare.
