Donna Pepper of Just Between Friends Owasso welcomes you to the spring and summer sale, April 2-5.

Owasso’s biggest children’s shopping event of the season is taking place April 2-5. It’s the Just Between Friends Owasso spring and summer sale at First Assembly of God Church on N. 129th E. Ave. in Owasso, across from The Home Depot. Pick up anything a family could need for newborns through preteens – as well as stylish maternity clothes for mom – all at bargain prices.

Just Between Friends Owasso franchise owner Donna Pepper says this sale – her seventh – will be the biggest and best she has held. Beginning with 75 consignors at her first sale in 2005, she now has 400 consignors who are offering nearly 25,000 items.

"This is every mother’s dream," says Donna. "It’s like walking into a kids’ superstore and finding everything at least half the price."

You may really believe you’re in a superstore. All JBF merchandise is carefully inspected and displayed in its specific area. Clothing, from newborn to size 14, is organized by size. Name brands include GAP, Gymboree, Ralph Lauren, Osh Kosh, Cache Cache and Flapdoodles. Some items still have original tags. And if your children need rainwear or swimsuits, this is a great place to buy them.

All merchandise is neatly displayed and organized for your shopping convenience.

Many people come to the sale from Claremore, Oologah, Bartlesville, Skiatook, Collinsville and Tulsa to shop for clothes, toys, baby equipment, books, games, puzzles, action figures, DVDs, children’s furniture, Game Boys, Playstations, computer games and more. There is even a special section for homeschooling needs. At this event you can also expect to find bikes, outdoor playhouses, ride-on battery vehicles and pretty much anything else that kids love playing with outdoors.

Donna says shoppers always comment on the unusual things they find. Owasso attracts many young professional families from all over the country, and they often consign things no one here has ever seen. One thing you won’t see, however, is the cardboard box and plastic packaging waste that ends up in landfills. All the merchandise is recycled, leaving nothing to litter the environment.

Seasoned shoppers can offer a few tips for newcomers and for grandparents. Bring each child’s measurements and a tape measure. If you’re looking for shoes, bring a cardboard cutout of the child’s foot. JBF is a great place for grandparents to find cribs, dressers, high chairs, changing tables, car seats and other supplies to keep at their homes. Some consignors price their furnishings individually, while others offer an entire ensemble, including bedding and décor, for one price. You just never know what you’ll find; that’s part of the excitement.

Donna recalls her own excitement the first time she shopped at a JBF sale. It was the greatest kids’ sale she could ever imagine. And this lady knows a lot about events! The Illinois native has a degree in parks & recreation, with an emphasis on special events. As soon as JBF franchises became available, she became a business owner.

Hours are Wednesday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Thursday and Friday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Saturday is bargain day, when most consignors cut their prices in half. Cash, check, Visa, Mastercard and Discover cards are all accepted.
