Owners Clinton and Robin Taylor will soon celebrate one year at their family business, The Refuge Lifestyle. Located on 151st Street just west of Memorial, the store specializes in original, rustic home furnishings, western art, and much more. It is a store with a warm, friendly atmosphere in which you can easily spend an hour or two just wandering around taking in all the really cool offerings. Their merchandise has a way of making you feel comfortable as you enjoy the setting.

The Refuge Lifestyle is full of unique, rustic home furnishings made of logs, old barn wood, oak, walnut, cedar, aspen and pine. Clinton’s father, Clinton Sr., is a master craftsman of beautiful, custom-built rustic treasures. His functional creations include furniture and accent pieces for any room of your home, lake house or second home. “Our craftsmen work one on one with customers to create beautiful heirloom furniture,” says Clinton. All furniture designs are made from dead standing trees and have eco-friendly finishes. “We are a green-friendly store,” says Robin.

When you visit The Refuge Lifestyle, you’ll enjoy a remarkable variety of furniture including beds, night stands, chests and dressers, fireplace screens, sofa tables and whisky barrel furniture, as well as unusual fine art and taxidermy. You’ll also enjoy perusing a variety of Dang Chicks casual western apparel for women – shirts, jeans, belts and buckles, hats and more. Each of your family members will enjoy visiting The Refuge Lifestyle.

Clinton and Robin are grateful to all their customers, friends and family members, and thank each of them for their faithful support of The Refuge Lifestyle. “Our first grand re-opening last November was a tremendous success. Vendors and the public had a great time, and we have enjoyed a steady growth during our first year of business,” said Robin.

Clinton is especially appreciative of Citizens Security Bank of Bixby for their understanding of small businesses and their desire to help them prosper and grow. “The Bixby Chamber of Commerce has also been supportive and instrumental in helping us grow our business with the frequent opportunities they have provided for networking,” Clinton added.

A new shipment of barn wood furniture will be arriving in April and will include all types of furniture. The store is scheduled to be packed with new inventory items including offerings of chandeliers, lighting items, and quality furniture for bedrooms, dining rooms, kitchens and bathrooms. There will also be new wall accessories and rugs in the inventory.

Clinton and Robin have a lot of new ideas to share with their customers through special seasonal promotions this year. The Refuge Lifestyle will be promoting their “Christmas in July” celebration, a fireworks stand in June and July, a mini indoor pumpkin patch in October, a second annual grand re-opening celebration in November, and a mini indoor Christmas tree farm in December with selections of both cut and artificial trees.

The Refuge Lifestyle is the home of rustic elegance and provides superb customer service while offering cabin, lodge, southwest, and western furniture and decorations made with the highest quality craftsmanship. And it’s a really fun place to visit and shop. If you haven’t already, drop in and meet Clinton and Robin and enjoy a tour of the remarkable Refuge Lifestyle store.  Store hours are Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday by appointment only.
