The holiday season has made its welcome once again. Whether you’re thinking about the cooler weather finally arriving, watching football after Thanksgiving dinner or hitting Black Friday sales, don’t forget to make time for those special events that you can only see this time of year.

Cities and local organizations around Green Country have planned events for this holiday season to make you and yours have plenty of chances to make memories and create new traditions.

Tulsa hosts a Christmas parade for thousands of spectators. This year’s theme will be, “Christmas Cheer of Yesteryear: Celebrating Nine Decades in Tulsa”. Gather in the heart of downtown Tulsa on December 10, 2016 at 6 p.m. to see the parade start at 7th and Boston. Tickets are not required for parade attendance.

If music is what brings your joy, downtown Tulsa offers two special events this year.

ELF: The Musical is making its way to Tulsa. Celebrity Attractions brings you the beloved story of Buddy the Elf in musical form on November 15-20 at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center, with afternoon and evening performances.

Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith will be live at the BOK Center for a special holiday concert with Jordan Smith of NBC’s “The Voice” on December 3.

Broken Arrow hosts a favorite tradition of many, the Rhema Christmas Lights Extravaganza. November 25- January 1, walk through a winter wonderland of enchanting lights at Rhema Bible Church from 5:30-11:30 p.m. For more information, visit www.rhemabiblechurch.com

Broken Arrow also hosts it’s own holiday parade in the Rose District. The Broken Arrow Civitan Christmas Parade will run from 10-11:45 a.m. on December 3. The parade will begin at 81st and Main Street in Broken Arrow.

Claremore will also host many events for those looking to get in the holiday spirit including the annual Dickens on the Boulevard, which will take place November 18 and 19 at 6 p.m.

The Claremore Christmas Parade December 10 will take place at 6 p.m. Come to see this year’s theme, “A Star Spangled Christmas!” in action.

The Bixby Rotary Club will host the 14th Annual Bixby Christmas Parade on December 3. The parade will begin at 10:30 a.m. For more information, go to www.bixbyrotaryweb.com

Inola’s traditional Christmas parade will be hosted by the Inola Round Up Club. The parade will take place on December 4.

Neighboring cities of Owasso and Collinsville will both hold parades on December 10.

Owasso’s “A Very Grinch Christmas” holiday parade will begin at 9 a.m. at Smith Farm Marketplace. Come join the many spectators of the city to spread holiday cheer.

Sapulpa hosts a plethora of holiday events starting at the beginning of December. On December 1, 8 and 15, join Sapulpa Main Street in downtown Sapulpa for holiday shopping and carriage rides for the Holiday Stroll. On December 10, Sapulpa will have a performance of  “Every Christmas Story Ever Told (And Then Some!)” from 2-4:30 p.m. followed by “ A Storybook Christmas” Parade from 6-9 p.m.
