The holidays have arrived! The Glenpool Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce their “shop local” campaign and other holiday activities happening around town. According to Chamber Executive Director Jennifer Cook, Glenpool’s holiday season officially kicks off on November 1 with the 3rd annual Holiday Passport to Cash campaign, which will award lots of cash and prizes, including the $1,000 grand prize to one lucky winner. The campaign continues until Saturday, December 1, when the winners will be announced. You must be present to win!

“The purpose of the Holiday Passport to Cash is for people to get to know the wonderful businesses Glenpool has to offer and to shop locally,” says Jennifer. The campaign includes several businesses that have chosen to take part, which will market the city’s treasures to customers in Glenpool as well as surrounding communities. In order to qualify for the $1,000 cash and other prizes, the shopper must have a certain number of the participating businesses stamp their passport. Passports are available at any of the participating merchants or can be downloaded and printed from the chamber website at www.glenpoolchamber.org.

The final day of the campaign, Saturday, December 1, will include with fun activities for the whole family to enjoy.

The annual Christmas parade will begin at 2 p.m. at the Glenpool School parking lot, proceed north to 141st, go west on 141st to Broadway, and go south on Broadway back to the school. The drawing for the Holiday Passport to Cash will be held at 3 p.m. at the 12-foot community Christmas tree on 141st Street.

The Toys For Tots campaign will return again this year. Everyone is encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to the community tree from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. The U.S. Marines will distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community. The Toys for Tots campaign continues until December 15, with several drop-off locations around town available.
