Nail Technician Michelle Whitney is the owner of BA Highlights Salon, located at 1823 S. Aspen in Broken Arrow. “I’ve been a nail tech for 17 years and truly enjoy my work and owning my own business,” she said. BA Highlights specializes in manicures and pedicures, acrylics, nail art, haircuts, hair styling and coloring, highlights, shampoo and sets, skin care, makeup, waxing, and massage therapy. “Our multi-talented team of technicians serves male and female customers including teenagers, young adults and older adults,” said Michelle. Ann Nguyen has many skills and abilities including nails, hair, skin care, hair and lash extensions, and waxing. “Some patrons know what they want when it comes to nails,” says Ann, “but most trust me and just tell me to make their nails pretty.” Ann does seasonal, holiday, and special occasion nail art.
A graduate of Cosmetology Education Center in Broken Arrow, Tanna Gioletti specializes in hairstyling, hair coloring with fashion colors, makeup and waxing. “Some of my clients have never used makeup and I enjoy showing them how to use and apply it,” says Tanna.
Elaine Collins has styled, cut and colored hair for 25 years. She is well known for her haircutting ability by both men and women and has many male customers.

Sandy Martino-Hewitt provides haircuts, hairstyling, and coloring. She has also applied makeup for theater groups and is an impressionistic artist. Sandy offers free neck trims between cuts to all her patrons. She previously managed or owned other related businesses.
BA Highlights Massage Therapist Christine Stephens specializes in deep tissue massage, relaxation, and hot stone technique. She has been a massage therapist for 27 years.
Six technicians from Hairtenders, formerly in Tulsa, joined the BA Highlights team this year, bringing a wealth of salon experience with them. They include:
Claire Parker graduated from Rogers High School and during high school, she attended beauty college each summer. By high school graduation, she also had enough hours to graduate from beauty college. “I enjoy working with the wonderful people at BA Highlights,” she said.
Hairstylist Jaylene Fallin has many specialties including hairstyling, cutting, coloring and highlighting. You will find Jaylene at BA Highlights Salon only on Fridays.
Steve Hensley grew up in Coweta and says, “I was always better at doing my many sisters’ hairstyling than they or our mom could do, and I enjoyed doing it. I’ve been styling and cutting hair most of my life.”
Juanita Rittenhouse is a hairstylist with a State of Oklahoma Instructors License. She has substituted at various beauty schools and managed the Collinsville Beauty School for several years.
Glenda Eleden specializes in hairstyling, cuts, and coloring. Her husband, Buddy Eleden, was a former Olympic marathon runner and some will remember “Buddy Days” at the Tulsa State Fair, named after him.
The previous owner of Hairtenders, Paula Gray brings a lot of experience to BA Highlights Salon. She specializes in hairstyling, cutting, coloring and makeup. Paula also does hair and makeup for Stanley Funeral Home.

Blankenship graduated from the University of Oklahoma and has enjoyed a lifetime career in advertising. He started his own advertising business in 1993 and enjoys creating graphic art and writing. Hobbies include hunting, fishing and pencil drawings. Duane and his wife, Janice, have been married over 50 years and are active in their church and community.
