Executive Chef Ludger Schulz is a master of divine creations.

Valentine’s Day is nearly upon us, and it’s a great opportunity for you to show your love to that special someone (and impress them, too!).

And while you can get a cake just about anywhere, not all cakes are created equal, nor are all caterers. When it comes to quality in taste and presentation, few chefs can deliver like Ludger Schulz, owner and executive chef of Ludger’s Cakes & Catering. Ludger has decades of experience and a great reputation.

Ludger’s does fantastic wedding cakes and groom’s cakes, but they also do fantastic cakes for any occasion, including birthdays and anniversaries. One of Ludger’s most popular cakes is their Bavarian Cream Cheesecake – a delightful combination of sponge cake and cream cheese filling. It comes in five delicious flavors: vanilla, chocolate, key lime, red velvet, and chocolate chip mocha, and custom flavors are available upon request. Ludger’s also offers many other specialty cakes and desserts, including carrot cake, red velvet cake, German chocolate cake, black forest cake, handmade chocolate truffles, dobosh, Italian cream cake, buttercream cake, chocolate-dipped strawberries, apple strudel, and sugar free cheesecake.

“The chocolate-dipped strawberries are always a big hit at Valentine’s Day,” says Alecia Schulz, Vice President and Catering Coordinator of Ludger’s Cakes & Catering. These strawberries are presented in a rose box with a red ribbon bow, and are fantastic in both taste and presentation. I brought one home and my wife loved it. Also for Valentine’s Day, Ludger’s offers beautiful heart-shaped Bavarian Cream Cheesecakes, which are drizzled in chocolate ganache.

Valentine treats to sweeten up the holiday of love!

Now, Executive Chef Ludger Schulz, Executive Sous Chef Robert Cato, Chef de Cuisine Polo Ordorica and Executive Pastry Chef Scott Campbell invite you to celebrate Valentine’s Day with a gourmet dinner at Ludger’s private dining room on Saturday, February 16th at 6:30 in the evening. The menu will include roasted tomato bisque with crème fraiche, hearts of butter lettuce with fresh asparagus tips dressed with orange citrus drizzle, gravlax martini, and pineapple sorbet. The main course is an epicurean take on surf and turf: filet of beef with bernaise sauce and broiled lobster tail with duchess potatoes and fresh bay carrots. The meal will wrap up with Chambord and raspberry chocolate soufflé and coffee. To those who desire it, appropriate accompanying wines will be served with all courses. Please make your reservation by February 7th.

Ludger’s has private dining available for all wedding, corporate and social occasions. Ludger’s staff is friendly and dedicated. Amenities offered include a sound system with microphone, a wood podium, a projection screen, an American flag, and a dance floor. Events held in Ludger’s dining room are completely private. “Our dining room is a hidden diamond,” says Alecia Schulz. “It’s off the beaten path. We have a great wait staff, and you never share the room with another party.” The dining room accommodates eighty people. “It’s great for regular groups who meet once a month,” Alecia Schulz says. “A lot of groups come in for breakfast, have their meeting, then have lunch.” Ludger’s has an extensive menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Or, if you prefer, Ludger’s can bring their gourmet goodness to you. From corporate lunches to private events to big weddings, Ludger’s can cater to most any occasion. Ludger’s also offers chocolate fountains, cake jewelry, and cake stands for rent.
