May is National Scrapbooking Month, and to celebrate, Simply Scrapbooks in Claremore has some exciting activities going on throughout April and May. They will be participating in the Green Country Scrap Run, beginning Friday, April 29 through Saturday, May 7. In addition to Simply Scrapbooks, seven other stores are in the Scrap Run, including A Memory to Scrap in Broken Arrow, Croppinsville in Collinsville, The Scrapbook Bug in Pryor, The Scrapbook Store in Owasso, Sooner Scrapbooks in Tulsa, SparksFly Studio in Skiatook, and Tops & Crops in Sand Springs.

Each store has designed a greeting card to share with their first 400 customers. Every participant in the Scrap Run will receive a passport, which they can complete by visiting all eight stores. A completed passport allows entry into a drawing to win special scrapbooking prize baskets. Scrap Runners also receive an additional entry ticket for every $25 they spend in any store.

“This is a wonderful way to get out there and see all the scrapbooking items available,” says Terri Musser, owner of Simply Scrapbooks. “Now is the time to get the supplies you need to finish your scrapbooks for Christmas and Valentine’s Day, and get started on graduation and spring scrapbooks.”

The final day of the run, May 7, is National Scrapbooking Day. “This is a huge celebration in our industry, and there will be special buys throughout the day,” says Terri. The store will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the first 75 people to make a purchase will receive a special goodie bag.

Simply Scrapbooks recently stocked up on tons of unique new items. “What sets us apart from a lot of bigger stores is that our products are not run of the mill. We carry a lot of unique items that you won’t find in a lot of other places,” says Terri. “Also, we really know what we’re doing. We provide specialized customer care.”

Shanan Simmons, sales associate at Simply Scrapbooks, agrees. “First and foremost, we are about providing the best customer service possible. We really get to know our customers and truly care about helping them with their projects.”

Scrapbooking is a fun hobby that anyone of any age can do. Even if you don’t think of yourself as particularly creative or artistically talented, give scrapbooking a try, and you will most likely surprise yourself. The finished product is a treasure trove of memories you and your family can enjoy for years to come. Special scrapbooking items are available for nearly every event and phase in life – school days, graduation, wedding, new baby, holidays, seasons, and much, much more. “Scrapbooking is basically pairing pictures with stories,” says Terri.

Simply Scrapbooks opened its doors over eight years ago and is proud to be the largest scrapbook store in northeast Oklahoma. “Our store has over 4,400 square feet packed with lots of fun and unique embellishments, coordinating papers, extras, and ideas galore, as well as over 800 colors of cardstock,” says Terri.

Stop into Simply Scrapbooks in the Ne-Mar Shopping Center for all your project needs, whether you’re a newbie or a seasoned pro. Don’t forget to mark your calendar now for the Green Country Scrap Run, April 29 through May 7.
