As December ushers in the Christmas season, many of us begin to ponder our gift lists. What can we give that will be truly unique? Or what can we give that will have lasting value beyond the holiday season?
These questions can be answered inside Classroom Corner in Owasso. With its full line of educational gifts, toys and supplies, Classroom Corner is sure to help you not only find something special for that teacher in your life, but for anyone else who values stimulation of the mind. And Classroom Corner carries gifts you won’t find in “big box” or department stores, including classic wooden toys (puzzles, Abacus, Pound-A-Peg) from Melissa and Doug, strategy games (Rush Hour Game, Hoppers) from ThinkFun, and the popular Find It collection of games.
Shelly Rogers and Jennifer Palmer, co-owners of Classroom Corner, point out that these games are not just purchased for children. “The Find it Game, for instance, becomes an obsession even with adults,” says Jennifer. “We have people buying these for their dads, and many doctors have them in their waiting rooms.” Other great gift selections include high quality Lane Calendars, stationery, bags, aprons, clipboards and handmade, beaded lanyards.
Even though Classroom Corner has something for everyone, they do have a huge selection of gifts specifically designed for teachers. In fact, Shelly and Jennifer highly encourage teachers to come in and fill out a wish list. “We give teachers something to inform parents of their list with us,” says Jennifer. “It cuts down greatly on the guesswork.”
Classroom Corner is more than just a teacher supply store. The shop serves a large customer base of parents and grandparents who come in and shop specifically for hard-to-find items. “We have a lot of parents who come in because their children are struggling in specific subjects,” Shelly says. “We can assist them in finding products that will help strengthen the child in those areas.” With a plethora of workbooks, games, flashcards and visual aids, you are sure to find something at Classroom Corner to help your student succeed in any area.
Are you planning a birthday party for your youngster? Shelly and Jennifer invite you to consider using Haley’s Love of Learning Classroom. For a standard fee, parents choose one of several themes, and Shelly and Jennifer take care of everything else — decorations, invitations, group activities, party favors, paper products and clean-up. The parent only needs to bring the child, the refreshments, and — of course — a camera to record the happy moments. Shelly and Jennifer note that this has become a popular service, and that the “Aah! Spa!” party theme has become an especial favorite, along with the deluxe party themes, Princess Tea Party and Super Science.
Haley’s Love of Learning Classroom is also available for rent to those who enjoy planning parties themselves. Also held in the Haley’s Love of Learning Classroom are Fridays with Miss Shelly, a fun-filled time of music, stories and crafts for preschoolers, led by Shelly Rogers, who has an early childhood and deaf education degree from the University of Tulsa. Classroom Corner additionally hosts Kindermusik with Stephanie Murphy, the only Kindermusik classes held in Owasso at this time.
If you are looking for a unique gift that will enrich the mind of the recipient throughout the coming year, be sure to visit Classroom Corner this season. This is the shop’s second Christmas, and Shelly and Jennifer anticipate it will be even more successful than the first. “We will get you in and out quickly, and we gift wrap,” says Shelly. “We want to offer both quality and personal service.”
