You gotta love stories with a great ending. This is one of them.

Marie Guidan had reached a point in her life where she had very little joy. She lived for years with chronic back pain, and as she explains, “It was as if I were dead. I couldn’t eat, drive, sit, kneel or sleep, and I had discontinued all activities that had once been important elements of my life.” Surgery had been recommended to Marie as perhaps the only way she might find some relief from the pain, but she never convinced herself that this was the route she should take.

Anna Giacometti is Marie’s best friend. She and her husband, Albert, had both been troubled with severe back pain, and when they heard about spinal decompression treatment, they did the research and found themselves at Spinal Decompression of Oklahoma in Claremore. Spinal Decompression of Oklahoma was established in 2004 and is affiliated with Claremore Health Associates, Inc., a board-certified medical family practice.

The Giacomettis were introduced to Dwight Korgan, M.D., who focuses on providing treatments to effectively treat and, in most cases, eliminate back pain. During treatment, the goal is to relieve pressure between the vertebrae, which in turn permits water, oxygen and nutrients to flow freely throughout the spine and allow the discs to re-hydrate. Intervertebral Disc Decompression (IDD) Therapy is used by Spinal Decompression of Oklahoma to treat a variety of conditions, including herniated discs, bulging discs, posterior facet syndrome, sciatica, degenerative disc disease, and general low back and neck pain.

Anna and Albert learned that spinal decompression is a non-surgical treatment process for herniated and degenerative spinal disease, a major cause of pain to many who suffer from abnormalities of the spine. All diagnoses and treatment processes at the facility are directed by one of the highly qualified staff physicians. Both Albert and Anna received treatments for their debilitating back conditions at Spinal Decompression of Oklahoma, and both are today enjoying lives free of pain and discomfort.

When Anna returned to the center for a minor “tune up” after receiving treatment, she convinced Marie to go with her. After receiving 20 treatments over a four-week period, Marie couldn’t believe the results. Today she declares that what has happened to her is nothing short of a miracle. Her life is once again full of activity, and she now does things she once feared she would never again be able to do. Marie is full of energy and loves to talk about again being able to enjoy a life free of back pain. She jokingly adds, “I must admit that the treatment I received from Spinal Decompression of Oklahoma was not a cure-all. It didn’t fix my arthritis or my brain!” Aside from that, everything is great and Marie is enjoying her life and able to go and do as she pleases – pain free.

“We want to tell our stories in hopes that others who suffer daily from back pain will hear about our success and check out the possibility of receiving treatment at Spinal Decompression of Oklahoma,” says Anna. Marie adds, “Hopefully, it will provide others the avenue to permanently eliminate their pain and suffering as it did for us.”
