Ladies, this event is just for you! The Ladies Lifestyle event is returning, but with a slight format change this year. The 10th annual affair is set for Thursday, October 8 at the new Claremore Conference Center at 1400 Country Club from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. Ladies will discover an array of shopping opportunities as well as booths offering information appealing to women of all ages.

New to the event this year will be hors d’ oeuvres from local restaurants, the first annual Leading Lady Awards featuring prominent women in business in the community, and a special guest speaker, nationally-known Jill Donovan, founder of Rustic Cuff.

Donovan began her business while spending time with her children during the day and teaching law at the University of Tulsa in the evenings. Teaching herself leather making and metal design in her guest bedroom, Rustic Cuff came to life for Donovan after she began sharing her creations as gifts for friends. Those friends’ encouragement led her to launch a business.

“Jill Donovan is a role model for many women. Not only did she start a successful business from the ground up, but she also started a movement in the fashion and jewelry industries,” said Sarah Sharp, Claremore Main Street’s vice president and one of the event’s committee members. “We are extremely excited that she graciously agreed to speak at the Ladies Lifestyle this year.”

Donovan will also announce the Leading Ladies Awards and then offer a short presentation about herself, her company and entrepreneurship immediately following the awards. The Leading Ladies Awards, which begins at 8 p.m., will include the recognition of ladies behind the scenes, community supporters, business leadership, nonprofit leadership, volunteer of the year and woman of the year. Nomination forms are available at the Claremore Chamber website, www.claremore.org.

The Claremore Chamber of Commerce and Claremore Main Street have designed the event to provide products, services and information women need and want to make their lives more efficient, more productive and happier. Regardless of their age or circumstances, women will find something valuable for their lives.

Shopping opportunities will include booths featuring jewelry, clothing, purses and other fashion accessories, home décor, body products, health care items, and business services related specifically to women’s needs.

Hillcrest Hospital Claremore, major Presenting Sponsor of the show, will provide a panel of health care professionals. Each panelist will offer a short presentation and will be available to answer questions related to women’s health issues at different stages of their life.

Dr. Lacy Crissup with Primary Eye Care will also be on hand with a mobile unit offering basic eye screenings for attendees. Major sponsors of this year’s event include RCB Bank, Tulsa Federal Credit Union, J&J Pharmacy and moreClaremore.com. Admission for the entire evening, all activities included, is $10. Vendor applications are also available at the Chamber and website. For more info, call (918) 341-5881 or (918) 341-2818.
